This is a water shoe that I also use for casual wear. It has some commonality with "barefoot" shoes, in that it is a very soft construction, with (intentionally) no attempt at arch support. Very unstructured with breathable, stretchy mesh uppers and a non-porous insole. The shoe feels quite wide to me with a very roomy toe-box. The difference between this and a barefoot running shoe is that this shoe does not fit snugly around the arch and heel. These have become my default slip-ons. If you like a more structured feeling design try the Top-Sider SON-R Feedback Sandal (which I also like).
