I have been using the Spenco ¾ Arch Cushion supports in my running shoes since 1982. They stay in place under the insole that comes with the shoes. I have used them in Marathons & other road races. They provide good arch support and cushioning.
Brands I'd also recommend: Brooks Running shoes

I found the good reviews on these are right. I needed to use them in a pair of Converse sneakers that have no support and no room for a full size insert. These feel good wearing and do not slip. I will be buying another pair or two to use in other shoes.
