Speedo Quantum Splice Boy Short

Overall:

Very cute. Nice heavy quality lycra in classic Speedo fashion. Size Tip: I have a flat butt and slim hips relative to my non-tiny (31") waist. My hips are 38" and the Large fit perfectly, as in no danger of falling off, but also looked graceful rather than tight and pinching. The top elastic falls at the top of my hip-bone, where I don't have a lot of flab, so these bottoms don't highlight my "pinch 2 inches" just above my hips. I hate bottoms that pinch into the middle of my flab so as to highlight how it bulges out above. I did not get the impression they'd fall down if I dove in, but I haven't tried that yet. Like someone else pointed out, if you bend over or squat down, you'll see a very slight gap just under your butt cheek, because this is shaped more like a short, in that respect, than, say a normal bikini bottom which has elastic to hug you body everywhere. It's fine from a styling perspective, just be ready for it. As an unimportant aside, I'm disappointed in Speedo for including a fake drawstring for show. For one thing, on bottoms like these you may truly need a drawstring at some point down the line. I'd have thought Speedo was the last company who'd sacrifice function for form, especially on this suit which is sort of a fitness/training style, not a lounge-on-the-beach-and-look-pretty fashion style.

I bought this suit to wear for my water aerobics class. My old suit with regular straps kept sliding off. The criss crossed straps have solved that problem. Additionally, this suit actually looks good as well. A win,win for me!

This is a great bathing suit! The sizes, like most bathings suits, run high. I am normally a size 4/5, but the 10 fit perfectly! It is sporty, yet sexy and not too skimpy. I love the neckline and the rear coverage is perfect! I highly reccomend.

I agree 100% with the other reviewer. I ordered two suits, one in my normal size and one a size larger. Both suits were sized correctly in the bust, but the skirt was very narrow and was obviously sized for very small bottomed person. If you are hoping to hide some excess weight around your midriff, bottom, and legs, this is not the suit for you.

Great suit! It is comfortable, and has great lines. Just what I was looking for. I would recommend to anyone looking for some coverage, but still wanting to get some sun! I got it so that I could go surfing in California for vacation and not have anything pop out unexpectedly; it absolutely met all of my expectations.

A good idea badly executed - Ordered this suit 'cause I liked the style. instead of getting just a loose top/mini-dress and bottoms there is a snug underlayer that the pants are attached to. As I was trying it on all i could think was how freaking hot it would be with two layers of synthetic fiber. To make matters worse, for some unknown reason they made a seam line in the underlayer where they changed from a heavier weight to lighter weight material, the result being "panty line." The final insult was the fact that the suit was designed only for women without any butt at all, so if you do have the curves god intended women to have, the back of the skirt is visibly shorter and the back of the dress rides up. Huge disappointment

Nice bathing suit. Fits well. Nice coverage. Stylish, but still comfortable and practical. The shirring is a nice addition - as is the belly tightening panel behind it. Really smooths stuff out, if you dig.

I've been a Speedo customer for 8 years. I swim for fitness but I’m no Olympian. I wear a size 12 pant but size 14 in this model. It fits well, stays on in the pool, and has modest coverage. The best feature is that it's chlorine proof, so this is only my third suit in 8 years.

It faded and the bottom sags!I weigh 135, I'm 5’6�, and slim. The suit looks great, but it kept riding up my behind on one side… then it started sagging under the bottom. It certainly should have lasted more than a few months. I am disappointed. I buy a lot of Speedo suits. This one flunked.

I like this suit, but it runs so, so small!! I wanted a suit with less coverage than your typical Speedo one-pieces, so I opted for this style. I am 5'3" tall, size 2 in street clothes (32" chest, 25" waist, 35" hips), and the 34 is really snug. It's not uncomfortable, but it is tight enough to where it's not particularly flattering. However, it's super comfy in the pool. It doesn't ride up, and the sides/back never get in the way of my strokes. I barely notice the suit in the water. If you have a chest, you probably want to opt for another style- this one is really low-cut. So, unless you don't have an ounce of fat on you (like the competitive swimmers I'm sure this was designed for, anyway), it will create a bit of a sausage look around the hips/lower back. I'm pretty lean, but this style is not something I'd want to be seen in...very comfy in the pool, though!

Sporty Look - This is my first Mom suit, after having two kids I felt having a two piece may be more work than I need. This suit is great for that transition to motherhood. I feel more like I'm going to the gym in comfort rather than having to worry if anything is "hanging out." I'm glad that I clicked "Buy".

These rock!I didn't realize these existed. A perfect solution to either (a) wearing my contacts which I hate, or (b) being blind in the pool. My first swim it took a little bit of adjusting, then I was off on a 2500. No leaking, very little fogging. At the end of my workout I could still see very well. They're pretty comfy, but you will come out of the pool with circles... all goggles do that.

Speedo Swim Fins - I ordered these fins for lap swimming and they fit well and are just the right length. The fins are compact to carry and I recently used them in the ocean to dive under our boat to unwrap a lobster trap line from our propeller. They worked great.

Not bad - I bought these bottoms hoping the covered my bottom as shown in the picture and they did not fail. The only thing I would say is make sure they are snug in your waist when you try them on, especially if you’ll be in the ocean. I bought a Small and a Medium and ended up going with the Medium because they were less snug, but when I went for a dip in the Ocean and got hit by a wave they slipped almost every time. The tie shown in the picture does not help to tighten the shorts; it’s only for show.

While it may be costly for a little piece of fabric, nothing lasts like the original Speedo. I’m still wearing my 10 year old Speedo. For SWIMMING, DIVING and SPEED in the water there is nothing like it. Don't get fooled by imitations!

Great suit - This is a great suit, although it runs VERY small. I'm a very thin tall woman and I had to order the XL in both the bottom and the matching top! I'm 6' tall and I ordered the two-piece because one pieces, even "tall size" one pieces generally don't fit my long torso. I was very happy to see Speedo offered a two piece in a sport-style swimsuit.

Nice, but conservative - This suit has a great feel, thicker fabric than old lycra suits that disintegrated after a season of chlorine, but not super thick or stiff like some other suits I've tried. It's slim fitting without squeezing anywhere. There is a soft cup and shelf bra inside. The legs are cut kind of low and the front quite high, so it has a conservative (possible "old lady") look. It's good for lap swimming with more coverage and less of a sport look than a "typical" Speedo one piece. I am 6' tall, about 150 lb; often one-piece suits aren't long enough, but the size 10 fit well and was long enough because the suit is nicely stretchy.

Accel Team Splice Swimsuit - After returning several suits, this suit was kept for its fit. I am a waterskiing counselor at a sleep away camp and am using this suit daily. Doesn't ride up in back and secure fit in the front.
