I have never worn Spanx before, but I read a blog written by a woman who was on the TV series "What Not to Wear" and she said that one of the secrets to getting everyone to look so good at the end of their makeover is to put them in Spanx. I have a lumpy middle, so I wasn't sure what style to wear. I ordered the camisole, the half-slip, and this full slip. This full slip worked the best, but the straps show on my sleeveless dresses and they dig in a little, even with adjustment. I really like the half-slip -- it doesn't suck me in quite as well as this full slip, but it's more comfortable to wear and doesn't show. I'm sending the camisole back because I really just need a shaper for dresses.

Not bad. Maybe I ordered a size too big, but I think a size smaller might have been too much. It held in some things and I liked that I could wear my own bra, so I could still accentuate one of my better features. The shoulder straps are a bit farther under your arms than bra straps, so they dig in a bit at times. I don't think these things are made to be comfortable, but this is my first time wearing one and I was pleasantly surprised. Overall, I wore it at a wedding (so far) for about 9 hours and I was happy with the smoothing effect where I needed it.
