I really love these shoes. I bought them in black. They are excellent requiring no breaking in period. One of my friends tried them on and asked me to order her a pair exactly like mine.

I really love this shoe. I bought Size 7, and found it too big! I went back to purchase the Size 6, and there are no more! Please supply more shoes!

I normally wear size 7 1/2. The size 7 Soul of Africa Ubisi fit me just right and they are very comfortable. If you like the way they look in the picture, you will really love the way they look on your feet.

Great look, really comfortable for about 8 hours. After that the arch support is noticeably not there. But I love these shoes and the leather is buttery soft. Exactly the color I was looking for.

These slides are very comfortable. The cushioned inner soles makes you want to keep them on all day long. I also liked the simple style.

Works for narrow feet, I have narrow feet and trouble finding sandals that fit. I'm glad that I took a chance and ordered these. They are very comfortable, the rubber sole is like a shock absorber on city sidewalks.

I love this shoe for its "soul." It looks handmade, and is very soft. I only wear it for dressy, and not for real walking, but it is a fun shoe that is quite distinctive, unlike the ubiquitous "ballet flat," which you would wear the way you wear this shoe. I have had mine for 2 years, and they have held up well, despite the handmade appearance.

Clarks Ubisi. Comfortable sandals that will work with skirts or shorts. I normally wear a 9, but the 10 was just the right size in these shoes. Good arch support.

Great shoes -- but wear them too much and they'll start to fall apart! The stitching comes out between the leather and the sole. They are great for tooling around, but don't try to wear them for long distances. I walk a lot in New York and twice I've had to repair the stitching. Plus the sole is wearing very thin in the ball of my foot.

These shoes are styled the same as a pair that Clark's had a few years ago. I have two pairs of those shoes and have almost worn them out. These shoes are narrower and the leather somewhat different - stiffer. I found these shoes to be too small even though I ordered the same size as my old ones. If I could have purchased a 1/2 size larger these may have fit.

Wow!These are great shoes - they look so cool (although not quite as sharp of lines as in the picture), and they are super comfortable. I wore them all day the first time I wore them and had no problems. They didn't rub anywhere, they weren't too tight across my instep, they were really great. I wouldn't recommend them for those looking for any sort of SUPPORT, as the soles are flat leather, but other than that they were gorgeous. I only wish they came in other, more funky colors. They'd be great in purple, or orange, red, acid green or yellow... I'd own them in multiples if they did! The only REALLY sad part is that they only come in whole sizes, though. Since I wear a pretty solid 9 1/2, I ordered both a 9 and a 10, kept the 9, but my boss (who usually wears 8 1/2 or 9) thought the 9s were too small.

Love my Ubisi Sandals - Bought a brown pair before going on a cruise and wore them all the time. Loved the feel and fit so much that I ordered a black pair when I got home. The most comfortable sandal I own.

Great looking shoe-very "artsy." Feels like a slipper. Full size larger than marked. Usually wear size 8, but had to purchase the 7. Fits great and I love the gray color.

Regular size worked for me!I thought about getting the next larger size after reading some of the reviews here but then decided to just get my usual size 8. The size 8 totally fits fine! I'm so glad I didn't get the 9...Not sure what others were talking about with their sizing issues but they seem true to size to me.

Great shoe for a great cause - I was initially drawn to these shoes because of the charity angle, and I purchased this pair for a good everyday dress up or dress down shoe - and I love them! I had to reorder a size smaller, though, when my normal size 7 was too big. I've found that they stretch out a bit, so a 6 is feeling perfect after a few wears.

Unique style with handmade quality - I got the red and absolutely love the dye used. Perfect with everything! Fit like a moccasin with little arch support, but soft and comfortable unless you spend a lot of hours standing on concrete. I find the stitching down the front to be slenderizing to my wide feet. Hope they bring this color back cause I would get a spare! I have the beige as well and it too is a favorite.

Cute and comfortable for a cause - I bought these in red because they're fun, yet comfortable, and some of the profits go to a good cause. Be forewarned that the leather upper takes a little bit of "breaking in" before they are truly comfortable and, until then, they feel a bit too narrow.

Like a slipper! These are not the sexiest shoes in the world, but they are darn comfortable, all day long - like wearing slippers out of the house. And not bad looking. Great with jeans. And they are extra cool because for every pair of Soul of Africa shoes sold, Clarks donates all profits to the care and support of South African children orphaned due to AIDS. Additionally, each pair sold helps to provide an ongoing livelihood for the individuals who stitch the shoes. Since 2004, Soul of Africa has raised well over $1,000,000 since its beginnings.Yeah Clarks!

Love it!Amazing shoe, especially for the price. INCREDIBLY comfy, great everyday, go-with-everything shoe, and for a great cause. I do wish it was a little lighter brown (at first glance it looks black)...but the square-ish toe is very flattering to the leg line...really, one of my favorite pair of shoes ever.

Disappointed - This is my 2nd online review! It wasn't clear until I read the other reviews, but this shoe looks and feels great. It just isn't comfortable. I would prefer a 10.5 even though I normally wear a 9.5, but the shoe seem to run small and short.

Need to return them and get a 10.5, maybe even an 11 - I normally wear a 9-1/2, but bought 10s for comfort. This 10 seems to run small and short because they are very tight and my big toe hits the end of the shoe and it is very uncomfortable.

Poor sizing - I always wear a size 10 and I could not wear this size in this shoe. If I could wear it, I would rate it much higher as it is soft and casual. If you are looking for support, this is not the shoe for you… short trips to the store or around the house would be fine. I plan to return it and get the next size up if available.

About Soul of Africa

Soul of Africa An ancient Chinese proverb wisely states, “Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.” Thanks to an initiative established by Lance Clark, sixth generation of the family behind the footwear company of the same name, this proverb is being put into action by Soul of Africa to help South African villagers affected by AIDS to help themselves.

Working with communities in the informal settlements around Durban in KwaZulu Natal, where the AIDS infection is highest, Clark and a handful of leading South African business people in the footwear industry have since been sharing their shoemaking expertise to teach local villagers how to make this simple yet comfortable hand sewn product for the Soul of Africa line.

Soul of Africa shoes are made by hand using supple leather and quality materials to create footwear that is flexible, durable, and soft. Incredibly comfortable, Soul of Africa shoes are simple, sleek, and stylish as well!

For every pair of Soul of Africa shoes sold, Clarks will donate all profits to the care and support of South African children orphaned due to AIDS. Additionally, each pair sold helps to provide an ongoing livelihood for the individuals who stitch the shoes. Since 2004, Soul of Africa has raised well over $1,000,000 since its beginnings.
