I needed something to walk my kids to school in when there's lots of snow and ice on the ground. The thick lug sole on these boots with the warm uppers would have been perfect. Unfortunately, they were way too short and felt very wide. There seemed to be a lot of extra boot on the sides of my foot, much too much to make up for with thick socks. Also, the uppers weren't as soft and cozy as I had imagined. They looked good but felt only okay. I did really like the dark black suede, almost enough to keep them if they weren't at least that size too small!

I purchased these earlier this autumn after I moved to Minot North Dakota. I knew I would be needing a good pair of boots that would last me for years to come. I tend to be more of a suburbanite so I was looking for something that is good around town, not out in the field. Like between the car and the grocery store or shoveling the walks or something. Or when there is slush on the ground so my feet stay dry and warm but still look good. Today was the first day I have worn these. Winter has reared its ugly head here early, and I decided to break these out. I used these exactly how I anticipated. The bottoms of my jeans may have gotten wet, but my feet did not. They are VERY stiff, especially for driving, but I know they will break in, and am looking forward to it. I anticipate these being my casual shoes when it is cold and wet outside. I love these so much I am looking at a second pair of Sorels and dropping hints to my husband for Christmas. I have always been a Dr Martens girl, that is changing :)

These have been very loyal snow boots for two Minnesota winters. They claim to be rated to -40F and I will happily attest that they do indeed keep the feet warm at that temperature. They are quite warm when outside in the snow, yet your feet don't boil when you go inside. They're comfortable (as long as you get the size that fits), and quite durable. They have proven their waterproof-ness and are invincible to springtime slush! I would warn about sizing decisions. I ordered and returned several pairs of these before deciding on a size that ended up being wrong. I think overall they're true to size. If anything, they're the tiniest bit small. But beware ordering a size bigger to accommodate thick socks lest your feet be swimming in space. Also beware settling on a pair that feels like a pair of athletic shoes (comfortably snug, sort of holding and wrapping around your feet), lest you end up in too-narrow boots that mess up your feet and hurt your toes when you walk down hills. Overall though, a wonderful, very effective, durable boot.

Order Waterfall boots 1 full size up - I followed the recommendations of reviewers and ordered 1/2 size up from my regular shoe size, but couldn't get my foot into the boot easily. Once they were on, they were definitely still too short. Cute boots, just order up a size, minimum. I'm still waiting for my return sticker too...it's been a couple of weeks. For a first time order, I'll give Zappos the benefit of the doubt as I know they have a service motto, but I would have liked to have had this box out of the kitchen and my payment refunded within a week to ten days.

Sorel's Waterfall - My winter boots fell apart and I was looking for a new pair. It was the end of the season and I wasn't having any luck. I wanted something sturdy that could handle anything from looking nice to being warm for shoveling snow. Talking to my husband one evening, he suggested I look on the web for Sorel's as that is what his winter working boots were and he's had them for over 20 years and they are still going strong! I started surfing and found the Waterfall boots on your site and others. It seemed to fit everything I was looking for . . . so I took a chance and ordered them. They look great, are extremely warm (can handle colder weather than I'll likely experience I think) and my first experience with Zappos was great. For those of you with a high arch - I have one as well and I was able to get my feet into these with only a little struggle - lighter socks would help that and they are so warm you don't need the heavy ones. I ordered a 7.5 which was always my size until over the years you can never tell what size will fit you. The 7.5 is definitely the right size so I would say that sizing is true. I really like them - the black suede makes them a bit dressier but I wanted something sturdy with good soles that will grip under bad conditions - after all that is what they are boots! Now high heeled ones for me. I loved them. Also the Zappos experience was excellent - they weren't in stock - but the emailed me when they became available again . . . free shipping (and I understand the shipping is free for returns and exchanging sizes! - makes you feel safer just knowing that). Then communication as to when they would arrive - they even sent them out faster and notified me when they were coming! I'm new at this ordering online business but with Zappos I felt comfortable. I did find other sites where I could have saved a few dollars but considering shipping and free size exchange - it would probably come out the same over time if you start ordering this way all the time. Excellent service counts!

Love these boots! Purchased them to wear at Sundance Film Festival as we do a lot of walking and standing. These boots were incredibly comfy, warm and were not bulky.

I love the boot. I have high arches so it was a little challenging to get on the first few times. I also have skinny legs and they just fit with my jeans tucked in when I zip them up. So if you have bigger calves these may not work for you.

Excellent snow boots! I got these boots two days before traveling to Sun Valley, Idaho and boy, am I glad I did. They kept my feet warm and dry through long snow shoeing adventures and were also extremely comfortable. A+ for these boots.
