I ordered 3 boots to compare. The North Face Greenland Zip II, the Sorel Waterfall Slip and Kamik's Taos. The North Face boot felt the toughest- it has a stiff leather upper, inside the toe box it is snug with insulation, the sole felt the stiffest. The Kamik boot was the lightest. The nylon upper was very flexible as was the sole- nice for walking in. My foot had a lot of space inside as there is less insulation. My heel lifted quite a bit but I think extra socks would help both these issues. The Sorel was a comfortable boot, easy to walk in with more support than the Kamik. It looked nice with the suede exterior, but I worry that it won't hold up to a season's worth of slush. Ultimately I am going to choose the North Face Greenland boot because I will occasionally use it for snow shoeing and need the rugged stiffness.

Do not buy these boots. I loved my last pair of Sorel boots. So warm and toasty and comfortable. I thought I couldn't go wrong in buying another. Unfortunately these boots were awful. They did not keep my feet warm. Snow got in -- my feet were wet and cold. And they are also ugly and uncomfortable. Sadly I didn't buy them from Zappos and since they were purchased late last season (worn for the first time this year) I cannot return them. I tried calling Sorel to complain but they are not willing to do anything about it. I will not be purchasing another pair of Sorels!

Look good to go to city work without being too work-booty/granola-hiker. I think these are finally the ones to keep me really warm and toasty this winter amidst the slush and piles of snow. They also have really good treads for sidewalk ice. Waterproof is the best!

Just received these boots today and ordered them yesterday! I love Zappos customer service... definitely the best. Anyways I love these boots! They are warm,cute and have a nice sturdy sole.

The top was very slender but the inside was very comfortable. I wish I could have zipped it shut! They would have been my new winter boots!
