I am writing this review based solely on my initial reaction to these boots, but so far these boots are holding up to my expectations. When I first put them on, it felt like I was tucking my feet into bed for the night, very warm and cozy, but they still have some rigidity. It doesn't feel like a super thick sock or something, definitely has a boot feel to it. I guess one thing I could say about the fitting is make sure you get a half size smaller because I wear an 11.5 US size and I got the elevens (although I guess they only have full sizes, so that may be interesting for some of you), they feel slightly more roomy than I would like, but that could just be the fact that I wear fire boots all the time, and there ain't no room to move in those puppies. So maybe just a mental thing I have to get used to. But okay, back to the review, overall, I love these boots; they're exactly what I was looking for, they're not too thick that you couldn't put your pant legs over them and still roomy enough to tuck your pant legs in also (if you're in deep snow or something). The longevity of these boots I don't know yet of course, but the felt liner can be swapped out when the old one is too worn out, and the soles definitely look like they can be resoled. Just as long as you oil the leather, I could see these boots lasting for countless years. And last, but not least, of course is the style, these just look kickass, so the boots are a double threat. I bought these boots for my husband for Christmas... they are gorgeous! The leather is beautiful and they look so rugged. He hasn't worn them yet, but when he tried them on he said they felt like they would be very warm. His foot fit perfect when using the insert, which is how he will most likely always wear them. I hope they wear as nicely as they look. So far, so great!

Wow! What a great boot! My last pair of Sorel boots lasted over 20 years (and still waterproof!) These are taller and more rugged. So glad I bought another pair.

Just got my boots yesterday. They read water-resistant, but I read a review somewhere else that said they would leak if submerged. Because of this and because the boot leather looked dry, I coated them with mink oil... making sure to coat all the seams. I think that'll make them waterproof and moisten the leather the right amount. The boots were perfectly comfortable with 1 pair of socks (doesn't seem like you would need more) and I can tell they will be warm. Can't wait to try them out in the snow!

Sorel Maverick- Great comfort. Haven’t had a chance to test them, but they feel good on my feet. I wear a 13 shoe and got a 12 boot plenty of room for thick socks. Fast shipping and best price out there. I will use Zappos again.

The Best EVER!! Well, I've worn a lot of cold weather boots, and the Sorel Maverick is without a doubt the BEST! I've stood in ice water, snow, and -30 degrees and my feet have NEVER been cold! Thank you Sorel for this wonderful boot!!

Sorel Mavirick - These are the greatest! I bought these in anticipation of locating to Oregon, but with all the bad weather in Southern California this year they came in handy. Very comfortable and warm. I am usually a size 10 but got the 9 because of other's recommendations. Perfect fit with wool socks. The lacing system is great.

great fit, excellant shipping - I normally wear 10 1/2 to 11 boot, ordered size 10. Slightly snug but will break-in to a great fit. Placed order on 2/19 (sat) at 10:30 PM est,order arrived on 2/22 (tue) when I got home! Very warm and plenty tall to keep out the snow.

Great Boots for moving snow! I'm delighted with the warmth these provide. The uppers are higher than many other styles. They do a fine job of keeping legs and feet warm. Unlike some others I've owned, these are very easy to walk in. Overall an excellent boot.

Sorel Maverick - I got this boot to replace the Cabela's Bitteroot boot that was very uncomfortable. I am still breaking these in but they are much more comfortable.

These were fairly uncomfortable, and while I could see them being awesome in the snow, they would not be great to walk around in during a commute. I need more versatile boots, and these were not them.

Just got the boots so it is impossible to really give an accurate rating. I almost ordered a size smaller due to the info from previous zappos customers ..Glad I did not the size 9 is a 9 if you wanted to where a larger pair of socks get a size 10.

I've worn the same Sorel Boots that I purchased in 1995 till this last winter. From the product picture I hoped these Sorel's would be similar to my previous pair, not even close. This new boot is very cheaply made and was small for the printed size and narrow. Compared to my previous pair these look like plastic and have no insulation. I am returning and will defiantly shop a different brand, thank goodness for zappos and their excellent customer service or this would have been a horrible shopping experience. I recently learned that Sorel's are now being made in China instead of Canada, I sure this is part of the problem.

These boots are fabulous and the people at Zappos are as well. They keep my feet warm and dry during any winter activity. Mine however did not run big I wear a ten and needed a ten again can not complain about a thing and would recommend Zappos to everyone. Great store.
