I live in a place where if you don't learn to enjoy winter with outdoor activities, by the time spring arrives in, um, May sometime, your heart, mind and body has atrophied. Encouraging more outdoor activity and less indoor video-game time, I purchased these boots for my snowmobiling 16-year-old grandson, who always had trouble keeping his feet warm. No more. These Sorel's did the trick and he loves them. They're the right brand (Sorels are big in Minnesota), they're the right color (black, can't stand out, you know), and the right style (almost motorcycle-cool looking). Combine all of this with Zappos lightning-quick service (I ordered on Saturday; had them on Tuesday), you can't go wrong!

These boots are pretty great for deep snow, really cold weather and motor-sports. My feet typically get very cold and the PAC boots I've had in the past have failed to keep them warm despite their temp rating. These are the first boots I have had that keep my feet warm even when I'm sitting still like when riding a snowmobile. I really like the reinforced grab strap in the liner which makes putting them on easier. Also with the top of the boots reaching mid-calf and with the gaiters it is pretty difficult for snow to come in over the top. They do seem to run small as everyone has mentioned. I wear size 10 and ordered an 11 and they fit pretty good.

This boot does not feel small once it is on; the instep doesn't have a lot of loosening slack so it feels tight when it's going on or off. Once you've passed the spot, its fine. I haven't gotten to use them in the cold yet (next season).

Very warm boot - I got these boots for my boyfriend for his snowmobiling trip this year and he was very pleased with this item. He said they are very warm and I did go with a size bigger because that is what the other posts read but Matt thought maybe his size would have worked also. He said for those who snowmobile the straps might not be a good thing because when you stand up and ride and rest your foot on the seat, the straps dig into your leg. This was the only complaint he had otherwise he loves these boots.

Just received these boots today in time for the storm! I am so glad I read the reviews. These boots do run small, so order a whole size larger. Had I not, I would be returning them. My husband is very pleased with them & can't wait to try them out.

Great Boots - My son loves these boots. Have a hard time finding good winter boots for him. He has a size 15 foot and these boots fit and he loved them so much he was walking around the house with them on for a whole day. Great boots I would buy them again. Also Zappos is great the boots were here the very next day. Love it when you call Zappos and you get to talk to a real person. Great company. Great products!

Totally Surprised - I came across Zappos.com while surfing the internet for a pair of winter boots with buckles. The boots are exactly what I expected, I wear mens 8-8 1/2 hiking boots, I ordered size 10 and they are a perfect fit. What really surprised me was the speed of delivery. Sorel Alpha Trac boot - Just wanted to let others know that when I called the Sorel rep. he told me the boot runs a ½ size smaller, but read customer reviews and they said order at least one size up. They were so true. If you like to wear two socks, maybe a size and a half.

Great snowmobiling boot - Upon reading other reviews, I ordered one size bigger than needed, and that worked out great. Very comfortable and very warm boot.

Sorel Alpha Trac - Ordered a size 12, my foot is an 11.5. Can't even begin to put on this boot. The heel will not go. An engineering mistake? Maybe I have heard others with the same problem.

Alpha Trac Buckle Boot - This boot looks really awesome but my 11 year old son could not even try it on because it was hard to get on and seemed to be at least 2 sizes too small. Be sure to order a bigger size. We already order one size bigger and he still could not get it over his heel??

Ordered these boots for snowmobiling in Wyoming and feel very confident they will keep my feet dry and warm while riding. They are a little hard to get off and on, consider ordering a size larger. They are a little heavier than I wanted but lighter than other Sorel boots I have worn in the past. As always I am amazed at how fast Zappos is in sending them out. I highly reccomend these boots and Zappos for easy and convenient ordering.
