Soleus Reviews
This watch's lap feature is really easy to use. So is the data retrieval. I have a history of buying expensive-ish watches and then not being able to figure out how to use them. I bought this because it is cute and water resistant and am delighted to find out how user friendly it is. Been using it about a month, my only beef is maybe the lap you just did could stay on the screen a few seconds longer.
Well not only does...it take forever for it to start...but when you do get it started let's say you want to reset your watch's time - you would have to reset the whole system because it just adds on to your miles.
This is a good basic running watch. It tells how far you've run, speed, pace and calories burned. It is a little difficult to use. I keep deleting runs when I'm trying to look at them, etc. However, this is user error and not a flaw of the design. It is a little big and awkward but that is the nature of a GPS watch. If the watch were a little easier to use and more streamline...it would be perfect!
Do not let the negative reviews fool you! This budget-friendly watch is a great alternative to the Garmin line. In response to the lag in GPS sync time, I have not experience miles and miles of missed GPS signal, cloudy or clear! A hint: start your GPS search prior to your run - during your stretch or while eating a gel. The time will be adequate to sync the GPS signal for the duration of your run. NMy long run of two hours still had full strength in signal. The buttons all serve a critical function, and take only a bit of trial to master. This is a great buy!
This is a great watch for the price. I've worn it in 2 races now. The first was a half marathon with about 20,000 people and it had trouble keeping the signal. The second was a 10 miler with about 8,000 people and it worked perfectly. The pace seems to be pretty accurate. I've noticed that the mileage is slightly off, but nothing significant. If it's a large setting such as a race it takes several minutes to pick up a setting, but on the average day it finds it in about 1-2 minutes. I have a small wrist and was worried it would be gigantic, but it doesn't look bad at all. Overall I'm happy with the watch and the price.
Watch looked great on, was easy to use, and comfortable. I was worried it would look too big, but I have pretty small wrists and it looked fine. Display was really easy to read. Unfortunately, I decided to send it back and get the Soleus 1.0 to have the GPS. Made me sad to send it back though because it's such a cute watch.
Seriously disappointed with this watch! I opened it, and at first sight there was two black spots at the bottom of the face. I had the yellow one, so it was fairly obvious. I was unhappy, but I think it was just from where they put the pin in to attach the band. I handed it to my husband so he could figure it out and get it all set up. He is a computer programmer, so I figured it would be so easy for him. Not so! He played with it for about a half an hour before he gave up. I told him I got it from Zappos so not to worry I would just send it back. I just got done doing the Live Chat and my white Casio G-Shock will be here tomorrow. Hmm...I have had G-Shocks before and should have just stuck with something I knew. I learned the hard way. The watch was cute though!
I love the look and size of the watch. It seemed difficult to me to follow the set up and figure out how to work the watch.
This is a great watch. It's small and easy to wear. The GPS works even in cloud cover. There are not a lot of extras, but then it's smaller and cost less than others. The pace works well in both Kilometers and Miles.
I loved this watch for almost three months, before it fell off my kitchen counter and the crystal shattered. Because I had become attached to it, I sent the watch in for repair on December 2, 2011. I had to pay for shipping, and include a check for return shipping. On December 13, 2011, my check and my online payment for the actual repair was debited from my checking account. On February 25, 2012, having still not received my watch back, I wrote to customer service. The official reply was "I am sorry for your troubles. Our after sales service is handled by Parsec Enterprises so unfortunately I don't have the current status of your repair. My best suggestion would be to call Parsec at 1-800-359-2508. Thanks and have a good week." I finally received the watch in March. Today is the second time I used it since the repair, and when I hit stop, the band popped off. Between the initial cost, cost of repair and Now the cost of replacing, I could have bought a Garmin. Do not buy it!
I am returning this watch---it is very difficult to fasten and uncomfortable. Do not be fooled by its appearance.
Love this watch! I have been looking for a running watch for a while and I am happy I found this one. It did pinch my wrist the first couple times I wore it, but I think that was more positioning than the watchband. Love it!
This is a nice, inexpensive watch with a strong band that doesn't come loose. I use it with my iPhone (it has my GPS), and this keeps my intervals.
I wanted to love the watch but it has a problem. The buttons push too easily so that by wearing it and just moving around they are constantly accidentally pushed. This is inconvenient.
Looks nice, feel okay on the wrist and display is very good, but buttons did not work well. Especially the mode button had to be hit just right to function correctly.Data retrieving was not working correctly either. Not specified on the description but this is a women's watch.First time buying Soleus product, not impressed. Difficult to tell on the picture but it would have been an easy no go had I had the chance to try it at a store.Product was returned the very next day. Zappos is great for that.
I bought this watch to assist in training for a half marathon. I have been using it regularly for about a month, and it is great! The GPS works great even on very overcast days, and is very accurate. The only cons are that it takes a while to pick up a signal (sometimes almost 10 minutes) and the beep that signals a mile is somewhat quiet. But for the price, you cannot beat it!
I purchased this because similar watches had comments that questioned whether they were leakproof in swimming pools. After a few weeks of my weekly mile swims, I can happily report that there are no leakage issues with this watch. Other functions are fine too. Not quite as comfortable as the Oakley D1 which it replaced, but I view this as a great purchase.

THEY ARE RUNNERS. Whether be fast or slow, on the road or trail, uphill, downhill, forwards, backwards, they run. If it brings them peace, they run; if they're filled with rage and need to decompress, they run. Clothed, naked, whenever, however...it doesn't matter...just as long as their feet are pounding the pavement!
