I've been a runner for about a decade and have insisted upon using these in my running shoes for the last seven years. I have high arches and a fairly neutral stride, and these give me all the arch support and shock absorbency I need for my 4- to 6-mile runs. They don't seem to absorb shock via "cushion" -- they're fairly hard -- but via a more solid "springiness" that doesn't break down nearly as easily as standard, cushioned shoe inserts do. I won't run (or hike) without these insoles.

Best insoles ever, no more foot pain or discomfort, excellent arch support. I feel I want to go farther and faster. I love them and highly recommend them for long runs.

If you have high arches, BUY THESE. I put them in my running shoes and I have no more shin pain. I'll never buy another insole for running.

I am currently running on gravel roads and these insoles are great for support and cushion. I run probably 20-30 miles a week when not training for a half marathon and this is the first time using these insoles, so far pretty good!
I'd also recommend: Mizunos

Great arch support with just the right amount of cushioning. They may be a little thick for some running shoes but they fit great in my Merrell Chameleons. I have at least one of every pair of SOLEs and have a few older pairs of Superfeet that have been replaced by SOLE. Both brands have their place, but I've grown to love the high arches of the SOLES.
