These socks actually work. They didn't slide down! I bought them to wear with my short booties that are in style this year. I have to have merino socks for the health of my feet and this is just what I needed. Thanks Smartwool!

Smartwool socks are great. They're a bit tight around the top but much more comfortable than any sock of this make.
Brands I'd also recommend: Swiftwick - they are my favorite cycling and running socks

Very comfortable. It's nice to have the benefit of socks without the look or the bulk. Cut low enough so you don't see them. They are a bit pricey, but the quality is well worth it.

I liked these "peds". I got them for my "dressier" Mary Jane-style Keens. They show just a little on the instep, but not very noticeably. I also wear them with my hiking Keens sandals, and they really don't show there, but add a thin layer of warmth and protection from trail grit. Typical fine Smartwool quality.

The Smartwool Hide and Seek socks are great. They keep your feet cool and dry in warmer weather. Perfect with athletic or casual shoes. More expensive than cotton shortie socks, but these last longer, keep your feet dry and no blisters!

OK, let me first start out by stating that I live in Florida and I am a PE teacher. I am out in the heat 7 hours a day. I have found these socks to be soft, comfortable and unnoticeable when wearing sneakers. My feet stay cooler than with my regular cotton socks and they remain dry while wearing them, too. These socks are more expensive than what I normally spend on socks, but I figure I wear socks every day, if I follow the laundry directions on the tag, they should last a long time. Remember, if you buy these, don't put them in the dryer!

I really enjoy wearing Smartwool socks. Normally I wear regular and sport socks but these shorties are really nice when wearing low sport shoes. They keep your feet dry and there is no odor.

Comfortable and Practical! Very comfortable. I wear them with my Skechers and it's nice to have the benefit of socks without the look or the bulk. Cut low enough so you don't see them in these types of shoes. When I ordered my first set, I thought they were a bit pricey, but the quality is well worth it.
Brands I'd also recommend: Skechers Bikers

Super comfy - Wool is a pretty amazing material. I can wear these in a snug pair of shoes all day and my feet never feel sweaty. They did shrink quite a bit because I forgot and threw them in the dryer but they still work just fine. If you plan to put them in the dryer, I recommend going one size up from your usual size.

Great sox - I never tried Smartwool’s low peds until Zappos and I love them! The cheaper, cotton ones you buy at the department stores seem to always manage to slide off at the heel, but these stay on with no problem. I was concerned that being wool, it might feel too hot, but so far all it's done is provide great breathability!

Smartwool Hide and Seek - I love love love these! I have bought pair after pair of these socks, many times more of a nylon type stocking... just to have them not fit or just end up tearing. These are fantastic and they are so comfortable. Perfect room for your toes and fit nicely in my Keens. Get these great socks.

Cozy and Comfy - I recently discovered Smartwool socks and these are the BEST! My feet are warm, warm, warm without sweating. And, the low profile works well with my "running around" sneakers.

Three socks (of the three pair) developed a run at the top of the foot within months. Also, the elastic is tight (good) but tight enough that on long-haul flights, it starts to hurt (bad). Otherwise, they're great socks; I wear them all the time and am sorry to have only 1.5 pair left.

Not happy - They feel soft and nice 'til you put shoes on. But with my feet, these slide down even though I ordered the l/xl for size 11 feet. Slide down means they wind up in balls and wrinkles around my arches. Not a good feeling. I've tried them with diff. shoes and some are worse than others, but none of them worked. Somehow the design with loose elastic seems destined to fail. Have since found TEKO run/cycle low socks that do the trick and stay put. Although I like Smartwool's crew socks very much, I would never recommend these.
Brands I'd also recommend: GO with teko wool blend low socks instead

I've always loved Smartwool socks, but these are definitely not the quality of most. I've tried 3 pairs now and they lose the elastic at the back and slip down on my heel. Not impressed!
