I love these shoes! I bought a pair of these at a discount shoe store about three years ago and have worn them in the restaurant ever since. I laugh at my fellow servers who refuse to buy slip resistant shoes; I feel like i could walk through a gallon of oil in these things. Warning: the first two days in these shoes were hell. They do start off stiff and draw blisters but after those first two days these shoes turned into my favorites. I would wear these as everyday shoes if I had a second pair. Someone else mentioned here that you do need to untie them after each use (how lazy are we?) because the the rear collar will eventually split, two years in my case. I have needed to replace these for about a year but they have held on longer than I could have ever expected for the price.

I\'m a former restaurant manager, and used to spend days trying to find a shoe like this. I actually purchased this one out of habit for an IT job, where the slip-resistance was nice, but not necessary.\r\n\r\nThe initial fit and comfort can\'t be beat. I did wear out the shocks in just under a year, but that\'s perfectly normal for me. The patent-leather upper wrinkled nearly immediately, and is showing signs of wear at the year mark. That\'s normal for patent leather, too, but I plan to go with real leather next time since looking nice is finally more important than standing up to oil and chemicals.\r\n\r\nI probably would pay just about anything for this shoe if I went back to food service. Comfort! Professionalism! Lack of slippery death!

These were a return. The pointy toe of this shoe works for only the narrowest of feet; and this was a wide! If you have a very wide heel, but a narrow toe, this shoe is for you.
Other Brands Recommended by Reviewer: Look around for other wide width Skechers. The models with "Alley" in them are good.

I purchased the Skechers Work Scholars - Harvard shoe because it was advertised as a good slip resistant shoe. I needed a pair of shoes that would be somewhat dressy for work but at the same time something that I could wear in rainy weather. (I almost slipped and fell several times with my regular shoes at work due to the tile floors). The shoes look very nice and are reasonably comfortable. They are a bit stiff at first but found that they became very comfortable in about 3 days of wearing them. I have since worn them on very rainy days several times and they are slip resistant as advertised and "waterproof" in that I have not had any seepage inside the shoes in heavy puddles. Size runs a little bigger than I expected. If anybody was wondering how to judge their size I would suggest buying the size you would choose for a good quality dress shoe. From overall experience I have found that expensive dress shoes are predictable as to size. (For example, in an expensive dress shoe I always use a size 11 and this always seems to be true but less expensive shoes such as these tend to require a slightly bigger shoe to match the fit. In my case it would be an 11-1/2.) The Skechers size was true to what I would normally choose. I am pleased with them and would choose them again.

Quite possibly the least comfortable work shoe I have ever purchased. The upper applies a bunch of pressure on the inside edge of my foot (upper right on my left shoe and vice versa). Hopefully they will approach comfortable as the first week of breaking them in comes to a close.

Ok, but didn't last long. I've been wearing a pair of these at work the past three months and they were actually slip-resistant unlike another pair of shoes I purchased at Zappos. They were rather comfortable for a couple months with an added arch support insole, but after three months, they are now becoming painful to wear and the tops of the shoes are cracked and peeling off very noticeably.

Awesome chef shoes!!! I have to start by saying that Zappos is a very professional and terrific company. I called them for suggestions on a new shoe and the customer service rep was not only friendly but patient and knowledgeable about his products. I have worn out many pairs of shoes in the kitchen and I was not expecting too much out of this pair. What a surprise! These shoes have held up and have a terrific finish that is easy to clean up every day. I would recommend these to any f&b worker.

One year shoes - I bought these shoes for working in a department store. They are pretty comfortable though I had to buy insoles for them, but I do for every work shoe. After one year the sole had bare spots and the leather has holes and wear spots. Overall very good shoe. Very good traction on multiple surfaces.

Heavy and lacking durability - I bought these shoes to wear to work. I wore them everyday and they still took over a month to wear in. I went through two boxes of bandaids for all of the blisters I was getting. Also, they are extremely heavy. After about 5 months of wear the leather outer began to peal and blister. I am looking for something else.

Nice Shoe, Great Service - I wore these shoes to work in a department store; at first they seemed a little uncomfortable, but as soon as they wore in, they were excellent. After about 3 months, the seam next to the tongue detached from the shoe, even though the shoes were still in very good condition! Hopefully I'll have better luck, but if I just had a bad pair, these are great shoes!

Great shoes for those in the restaurant field - I ordered these shoes for my son who works in the restaurant industry. They are required to have a non-slip, grease resistant sole and these shoes fit the bill. No matter where my son works - in the kitchen, serving, busing... he is on his feet every working minute. These are very comfortable.
Other Brands Recommended by Reviewer: Try Deer Stag work shoes... although my son prefers the Skechers.

Good shoes - Good quality shoes ... they both needed inner soles because they didn't have a lot of cushioning and the bottom of the shoe was a little weird. But overall, very happy. Would recommend them to anyone.

2 BRICKS strapped to my foot as I fumble to work. I wear a size 14 shoe. Granted, shoes this size are going to be on the heavy side. Skechers redefines heavy. My shoes weigh 3 pounds. Again, that's three pounds and then some. These are advertised as classy work shoes, but they are too heavy to work in and aren't very classy anyway. The look is disappointing with its lip that protrudes the shoe with a jagged pattern that contradicts the simple look that could have been achieved. Of course the simple look of black leather in an English cut was short of class. The shoes are BULKY with a material so fake I'm not sure if it’s leather, synthetic material or just an insult to my dollar. Although this review is very "one sided" and negative, it is fueled by my remorse for having ever seen or considered these shoes. I am typically very happy with my shoe purchases, even if they are below great, I am very forgiving and come to love shoes. BUT, in this case I am unable to write it off. This is definitely the most disappointing shoe purchase I have ever made. Zappos = Great on shipping, et al. Minus selling me this shoe.
Other Brands Recommended by Reviewer: I recommend Hush Puppies. I am not to keen on work shoe brands.

My job requires a lot of bending and stooping always on a concrete floor w/no cushion these shoes are pretty stiff and do not flex well in these conditions. Seem to be very well made and will wear well for a $50 shoe.
