The SIDI story and their respected stable of SIDI shoes began with Dino Signori, a bicyclist from Italy who founded the company in 1960. In the beginning, SIDI was a craftsman´s workshop manufacturing mountain sports footwear, but the company soon followed Dino´s passion for two-wheeled sports. From the foothills of Italy, they began to craft custom and high quality cycling shoes for enthusiasts of the ever-growing sport.
Now in its fifth decade, they continue to research and develop highly technical SIDI cycling footwear, creating products that are revered for their reliability, durability, and comfort. SIDI footwear has been chosen by millions of athletes because of their focus on research and technological evolution. The consumer´s high expectations and the fast evolution of cycling have meant SIDI´s technical staff are focused on researching and developing cutting-edge design with groundbreaking materials. The design team works closely with the greatest champions in cycling, incorporating their feedback into the creation of the most cutting edge SIDI footwear in the business.
From the Giro d´Italia to the Tour de France, at the most important classic races of the professional cycling circuit and culminating at the World Championships, SIDI footwear has been the loyal companion of hundreds of athletes. By choosing to race and win on SIDI shoes, these champions of cycling have contributed their experiences to the evolution of sporting footwear, making SIDI cycling shoes the proven leader in the field. This is my second pair of SIDI Dominator 5 shoes. I use them both on my road bike and mountian bike with frogs. I love them. The last pair I lost after 3 years use and promptly got a new pair. BTW, Zappos shipping speed and customer service is amazing. Beware that the sizes run large. The mans 9 is at least a 9 1/2. I wear a 9 normally, but sized these at 8.25 (42).
I'd also recommend: Speedplay Frog pedals are ideal for road riders who prefer a recessed, walkable cleat.

Pricey, but you get what you pay for I guess. Time will tell. Toe box is pretty big. I'm used to a pair of 15 year old Shimanos that fit more like a ballet slipper. Even with the strap ratcheted one notch past comfort level I get a bit of heel lift while pedaling.

These shoes easily last 10 years. They are comfortable and perfect for quick on and off. Money well spent when you realize how long they last.

I have rarely encountered such wonderful customer service as I did when I wanted to exchange a pair of biking shoes, Sidi, for a more correct pair of Dominator Sidi shoes. When I called and explained my dilemma, the rep was very receptive and promised delivery the next day, and put me on the VIP list for future orders. They arrived the next day, as promised, and they are now on my feet when I ride.
I'd also recommend: Know of no other at this time.

These shoes are amazing, comfortable the moment you put them on, can last ten years if you treat them right, and have very secure and clever fasteners. The one thing to watch out for: they tend to run a little narrow. My feet are on the wider side of 'regular' - not enough to get special shoe cuts, but I prefer brands that tend to run wider by default - and my foot was over the sides of the sole. The pocket around the toe was perfect, the heel felt nice, but the sole was just too narrow. It pained me to return them to get a wider shoe.
I'd also recommend: Specialized, Shimano
