I bought this pair of shoes for casual bike touring involving a fair amount of time off the bike spent walking, visiting shops, cafes, and museums. They are very well made with a true fit that resembles a pair of good basketball or cross training shoes. The soles are configured for standard spd cleats (I use Speedplay Frogs, no problem), have ample stiffness for good power transfer, and the arches provide very good support. As with all spd ready shoes, the soles are thicker than those of ordinary shoes (to accommodate the cleats), so walking in these shoes does not feel entirely natural at first (the heels feel a little low), but after some time I find them very comfortable and I almost forget they are biking shoes. On the bike they perform wonderfully. Be aware they are bulkier than conventional cycling shoes, so you may want to adjust the angle of your cleats for easier exit than you normally would. (At first I installed the cleats parallel to the axis of the shoe, as I do for my conventional cycling shoes. I found the toe box tended to wedge slightly against the crank arm when exiting the pedals. The issue was resolved by making slight adjustments to the angles, moving the rear of each cleat a little toward the outside edge of the shoe.) Outstanding value, especially when bought through Zappos!

First time clipless pedal user and found these shoes to be a bargain. I really like the higher boot cut for added ankle protection on the trails. I was able to install the cleats with no problems at all and was riding with my new pedals and shoes without any issues. Did some heavy trail riding and the shoes felt really good. The cleats are recessed into the the bottoms so no issues (feel or noise) while walking on concrete. Several veteran cyclists commented on their appearance so I know they must look good. The sizing was true, I am about a US size 10 and the 44's fit perfectly. I would recommend these to anyone.

I'd also recommend: Shimano all the way!

I wanted some ankle protection and a breathable shoe. I did replace the insole which made the shoe way more comfortable. These shoes rock!

I'd also recommend: Diadora

These are great shoes. Plenty of ankle support, comfortable on off bike...cleats don't hit the pavement when walking (don't feel like I am in clown tap shoes). I get a lot more power on my pedal strokes (nice and stiff).

I have wide feet and bike shoes are always made super narrow, but these seem to be a bit wider than others I have tried. I have a solid sole that gives me plenty of power in my pedal strokes. And they have nice ankle support. I like them.
