These shoes are very well made and have a perfect combination of quality features: Vibram sole, Gortex lining, a good lacing system, and good craftsmanship. However, they're too tight in the toe. So tight, in fact, that I don't think I can wear them unless I have the toe stretched by a local cobbler. And I have narrow feet! Furthermore, the heel has a conversely loose fit, especially compared to the toe. Unfortunately, these shoes are definitely not shaped well for my feet. Sizing may also be a problem. I had to send back 9.5's for 10's because of the tight toe...Zappos, by the way, was great about that. Otherwise, I really wish these fit better because they are clearly a very nice shoe. So if you have narrow toes and wide heels, you'll be very pleased, I'm sure. Next time, I'll try Garmonts or Merrel's in a similar style.

I wear a 10.5 - needed to up size to an 11. However, the toe box is so narrow that I am sending back the 11 and looking for a new shoe. Really nice shoe, very small toe box - looks narrow too. Fits more like a climbing shoe than a hiker.

True to size. Very comfortable. Stable and easy to wear with light weight or thicker socks. I have wide flat feet and I wear these everywhere.

Pros: Great shoe, very sturdy, solid construction. Looks and feels good both in the city and out in the woods. Cons: Long break-in time for me, fits definitely narrow. Little things are missing though for an approach/hiking shoes, like loops, or a lace latch.
Brands I'd also recommend: Garmont, La Sportiva, Patagonia, Five Ten

Very comfortable straight from the box. The shoe has great support and pretty good cushioning helping me with my very badly sprained ankle. I can't do half as much with my usual hiking shoes.

Shoes are very well constructed, fairly lightweight and look great. They are stiffer than running shoes but more flexible than hiking boots (truly hybrid), which is what I was looking for. It took about two weeks to break them in and now they are very comfortable.

Well constructed shoe for comfort, stability and general outdoor use. Perfect for trail and light hiking. Gore-Tex is a nice touch and most significant is a generous toe box - very accommodating. Overall, a terrific shoe.

Excellent pair of light hiking shoes. This is my fourth pair of Scarpa hiking shoes/boots and every pair has been great. Scarpa shoes are very well constructed and last well under heavy usage. They tend to be a bit narrow, which works well for me.

This is a very nice shoe: well-constructed, very stable, surprisingly comfortable. It doesn't breathe as well as a non-GORE-TEX shoe, but neither does it make my feet sweaty. I haven't worn it in a down-pour yet, so I can't attest to its waterproofing. My only complaint is that it only comes in grey and green. Overall, I would recommend this to a friend, and I will strongly consider Scarpa products in the future.

Good shoe and nice looking, great materials. The GORE-TEX lining is a nice touch and effective. A little tough on the balls of the foot for trail hiking, or walking on concrete. Get these on a technically steep climb or descent and they really shine - stable, precise, and good traction. Oh, I immediately replaced the footbed with a trim-to-fit bed made by Superfeet.

Fantastic shoe. Right out of the box, I took it with me as my trail shoe to do some hikes on some of St. John's (USVI) rockiest trails and it performed well. It had super grip on slippery rocks, a stiffer than usual sole for a shoe of this kind to negotiate uneven terrain better, and a tread pattern that just plain works for both casual walking and aggressive trail work. I don't know why I waited this long to buy my first Scarpa trail shoe (my first was the mountaineering Scarpa Mont Blanc GTX), but I'll definitely buy another Scarpa trail shoe in the future. Make sure to size up by 1/2. So if you normally wear an 11, go with 11 1/2.

While this shoe looks good on paper it did not fit well out of the box. I could never get the heel to fit snug and the water proof gusseted tongue bound on top of my foot when laced tightly. The Zen with a flatter tongue and cleaner lacing system might have been a better call. For me the shoe is more style than substance. I was looking for the opposite.

Great looking shoe and also comfortable, I wear it daily for going around town. My only negative comment is that it is a little narrow on the sides but than again this shoe is desined for rock climbing.

This shoe fit pretty good, but I returned it because I felt it had no arch support, and when I walked across my living room, my knees felt pushed inward.
