I needed new hiking shoes for a trip to Yellowstone National Park. These shoes were very comfortable for the 8 hour hikes and I would recommend them.

I was looking for a shoe that would be a great day-hiker, but that could also pull double duty for some trail running and after a few miles on the trail, these fit the bill. Dig the shoes and of course Zappos.com always does a great job!

Excellent shoe. I have a flat narrow foot and it fit my very well with some superfeet insoles I added. Can run comfortably in these, and used them on a 10 mile approach hike they were very comfy! And look good too.

I bought these to use as approach shoes but being the dead of winter I haven't gotten a chance to use them as such. I started wearing them around town though and I'm surprised at the amount of compliments I get. I've even had a few strangers stop me and ask about them. Besides being a good-looking shoe, they're also incredibly comfy. I'm probably buying another pair to keep for kicking around the city after this current pair is sent into the mud this summer.

This is my first pair of scarpas, I initially thought I might need a pair a half size larger as these shoes run narrow/ tight yet after only one day they seemed to self adjust perfectly and have become some of the most comfortable shoes I have owned. Born and Blarks included! Also the styling has a perfect balance of subtle/graphic. A+
Brands I'd also recommend: ASOLO, BORN, CLARKS

Great shoes. I have done a few light hikes in them and kind of everyday type use so far. Plan to use them for a new job starting soon where I'll be on my feet for long periods of time. Very comfortable and seem solid.
Brands I'd also recommend: Garmont

The insides of these fell apart, and I ended up with a dozen blisters the one time I actually tried hiking in these things. Not a good buy, but they do look good walking around the city in the winter.

Solid shoes. Rugged toebox, which I needed for MTB pedal cages. Length as expected. Width narrower than expected.

These are very light and roomy shoes. They have a very organic feel to it. The fit is solid and snug without being tight. They are very Grippy!

Great looking shoe! However, as other reviews state they are a little tight. Bought them for trail running and hiking, but will be using them as an everyday shoe when I won't be on my feet for an extended period of time. They are very durable though (had to go out on a good note)!

These shoes are one of the best investments I've ever made. Bought these in time for a two-week camping/hiking trip. These were great in the sandy desert, on slick rock, on forest trails, and even helped me get around on shifty, sharp limestone shale and gravel. They are comfortable, light, ultra-durable, and have great tread. The removable insoles are also a huge plus. The stuff I put these through would have nearly destroyed a lot of my other shoes.

Great looking shoe, and well designed for the purpose intended: approach and hiking. The problem was that Scarpa had sewn a 1/4" band of material that went on the sides and over the toes right at the end of the tongue that made the shoe tight, just in that area, creating a hot spot. Blister city, a no-no on any hike. I would have kept them if not for this. I thought about keeping them for casual wear, but they're pretty expensive for that...and I was looking for something to hike in. Returned instead. Too bad.

It seems that others have had experiences similar to mine. When I put these on, they feel fine in terms of length, but perhaps a bit narrow. As the day goes on, they only become more comfortable. They fit "like a glove", if you will. I have a pair of Merrells that are kind of the opposite - They feel great when I put them on in the morning (not too tight anywhere, but supportive), but they get uncomfortable throughout the day. I also love the extra toe protection. It's a shoe that's light and nimble enough to move fast, and robust enough to stand up to it.

Great durable approach shoe. I would not personally trail run in these as they lack cushion. The tread and toe profile are excellent for scrambling.

I bought this shoe to ride bicycle (using rat-trap pedal cages) from Utah to AK and back (5100 bicycle, 500 miles canoeing, tenting in woods along the way). It felt more like a moccasin than the other 2 pairs I tried (and sent back). I wasn't disappointed. The shoe fit kept getting better and better; wearing them in all weather probably helped to mold them to my feet. The soles and toes survived the rat-trap experience totally intact thanks to the reinforcing. The only thing that wore out at all was the inside heel-fabric, probably due to my heel going around and around for 5 months. These were the only shoes I had on the entire trip, and I still wear them. They look good, and still don't stink (despite all sorts of weather and Yukon river soakings). I bought another pair when I got back just on general principles.

I swear by Scarpa shoes for all of my outdooring footwear, and the Epic is probably the best general purpose outdoor shoe available. They are very lightweight, very comfortable. Unless you are doing something quite technical or have ankle problems, I can't imagine needing much more support than this. A bit of trail running, scrambling, approach-work, everything is smooth sailing in these. Paired with Superfeets (orange) and injini socks, I've never had a blister (1500 km and counting) They are durable and sticky enough. I've been going for a long time and I own several other pairs of Scarpa's, but I always find myself reaching for these first.
Brands I'd also recommend: Smartwool, injinji, ibex

My new favorite shoe. All day comfort, good support and stylish for just about any occasion. Probably most important to me, no hot spots. This is an all day shoe for me where my more expensive Nike's are not. Lacing system does take a bit of getting used to, however.
