I really like these sneakers! I was running in Brooks Ghost (which are also very good and I highly recommend). They have a lot of flexibility in the sole of the shoe so my feet are able to bend and move with ease. The grip the ground/treadmill which I also liked. There is no heel, which I love. As a runner who runs on the balls of their feet (mid foot), these were really perfect for me. Good arch support and plenty of cushion. I generally wear size 8 in normal shoes, but in my running shoes I always buy 8.5 (because our feet swell as we exercise). I bought 8.5 in these and they fit perfectly.
I'd also recommend: Brooks

I will only wear Saucony - ever. Yes, I do own Nike, Reebok, Brooks etc, but I have Saucony in at least 30 pairs. My favorite was the original Kinvara. I did buy them in every color. I loathed the Kinvara 2, and I do own a few in the Kinvara 3, I just read that because of the way they look, the Kinvara 4 was a terrible shoe. Really? I run 10 miles everyday 7/365. I could care less how "cute" they are. Frankly I am more concerned with comfort & weight. I chose the Virrata because they were new, the reviews were good and they are light weight. I love them; however, the same thing that happened with every single pair of Kinvara happened with these within 45 days. It appears I wear a hole through the mesh. I have spent a fortune having my other shoes patched, but this was disturbing considering I'd only had them 45 days and wore them 5 times. Zappos was great, they sent me a brand new pair. My BFF that runs with me, loves these shoes (more about the looks then actual substance) so she bought a pair. I really like them, so I am buying another pair. I try to buy pre-owned in excellent shape Kinvara 1 off of eBay for back ups, since eventually the holes through the mesh cost too much at 6.00$ a pop for repair. I am curious to see how my BFF's wear, because I am wondering if it is truly the mesh or just my toes. I do get them 1/2 size up, so I do have plenty of room. Saucony is the best running show available. Ever!

I wanted to love these shoes - they are lightweight yet just enough cushion and support for my HIIT/aerobic/kickboxing workouts. EXCEPT the way they built the soles of the shoes means they seriously pull to the outside and are therefore terrible for anything lateral. Even just standing still in them, my feet roll to the outside. So sad!

Flexible, very adequate cushioning and arch support for such a lightweight shoe. These may be the most comfortable shoes I have tried. Long time wearer of Mizuno Wave Riders and more recently Nike Zoom Vomero (both in N width) but the Virrata's could be tightened adequately through the mid-foot to provide a secure fit. Overall, an excellent choice in the minimal shoe category.

Love them! I purchased them, trained an ran my first half marathon in them! They run true to size or maybe a pinch small, but not as small as my other Saucony shoes. I wear a 7 street shoe and a 7.5 running shoe. I have a pair of the Fastwitches that run super small. In those I wear an 8. I decided to order an 8 in the Virratas just in case the fit was the same. It is not. The Virratas felt too big in an 8 with a wide toe box, but I kept them because after running long distances like 13.1 miles my feet swell. I'm glad I kept them. They are my very favorite running shoe. Hope this helps!
