In 1977, after many long years being kept a close secret, Saucony® men's shoes and women's shoes were recognized by a small group of serious runners and received an award given by a US magazine. Stemming from that day, Saucony® shoes and clothing have built a reputation for high quality and innovative technical performance for which it is known today.

Four years later, the Saucony® Jazz O, the most popular Saucony (now Saucony® Original) shoe to be made, was launched and in 1991, offered a midsole comprising both cushioning and stability-GRID® resulting in men's and women's shoes that delivered a superior ride.

At Saucony®, they exist for runners. Runners inspire them, bringing new ideas and force the Saucony® brand to be better inside and out. They are the inspiration behind the design and engineering of Saucony's best-made products. Runners keep them competitive, hungry and driven but mostly, honest.

Whether in a conference room, or out on a lunchtime run, Saucony® employees are constantly talking about and arguing about their running clothing, shoes and accessories. They are passionate about their products and run in every product they make. This focus and passion fuels them to create the best Saucony® running pieces on the planet. And they keep an eye toward the future when producing Saucony® kid's shoes. Doing so allows them to come to work each day knowing they've done everything to make runner's lives, regardless of age, just a little bit better.

At Saucony®, a good day is when they get to run. A great day is when they inspire someone else to run.

After what seems to be an endless search for shoes that I can run in, without hurting myself, I have finally found them! Having had five surgeries on my left knee, including ACL reconstruction, it has been difficult to find one set of shoes that can do the job. These do. I was diagnosed as being an over-pronator at a running store. As it turns out, my left side is an over-pronator, my right side is neutral. These shoes offer great support and, you can't even tell you are wearing them most of the time. I will more than likely be purchasing another pair in the near future!

These shoes are terrible. I am very disappointed, as there were so many positive reviews. I am a larger man, 245lbs at 6'4, and had previously ran with the Asics Nimbus, which I liked. I decided to try Saucony at the urging of others, and this model seemed a good try. Wrong. 3 miles and I have a blister on my upper heel from rubbing, wearing the same low socks I had worn with my Asics without having rub. There is little cushioning, to the point where these feel like running in flip flops. I would return them if I hadn't cut the laces already.

I am 175 Lbs, a Male, 70 yrs old and am a moderate pronator. I use Size 11 2E shoes. I work out the gym daily - walker Or X Trainer for 45 Mins, and do exercises thereafter. I have had many shoes over the past 15 years. - 2 pairs Brooks Beast, A pair of Asics Gel Kayano's and 2 pairs of New Balance 760 series shoes. I bought a pair of Saucony Progrid Guide 5 shoes about 3 weeks ago and they are simply awesome. The best I have had by far. They are so light, give me all the support I want and are super comfortable. Zippos I may add are also fantastic to deal with. Their web site excellent, buying made so easy and delivery on free shipping was in just under 3 days!!

I'd also recommend: New Balance BUT these are miles better

Best shoe for underpronators ever. Buy a half size larger for running. Forefoot is so cushioned, the road feels like a soft track. Switched from Nike after 20 years and never looking back.

These are outstanding. I was coming from the Guide 3 and wanted shoes with less drop. These are totally different from the other guides in that the heel drop is far less and there is less constriction around your feet, for a more natural feel. I was a bit nervous about this but it still feels great after around 250 miles. If you are expecting the same shoes as the previous guides, these are not them; if you are expecting shoes that strike a good middle ground between minimist and regular shoes, these do the trick for me. Also, it is worth mentioning that I have had plantar fasciitis since before I got these, and I put some higher arch insoles in them and they feel great. The issue has not resolved but it has not worsened either, and I am still adding miles to my training.

Great lightweight stability shoe. The comfort and support are superb. Reduced heel drop is a plus. Too bad only one colorway comes in wide sizes.
