These are my first pair of zero drop "barefoot" running shoes and I must say they are amazing. Obviously I can't compare these with other similar styles but based on my first run I can say that the zero drop encourages a mid-foot or toe strike while the 13mm of cushion under your feet provides just enough cushion while allowing you to maintain a good grasp on the road. These and the Velcro version are both amazing. If you are looking for a minimalist shoe while still wanting a tad bid more protection from the ground than some of the other barefoot shoes, these are perfect. The LC model provided a widened toe box that allows for you toes to spread out with each step allowing for even more of a natural feel. My only gripe would be the placement of the rubber pods on the bottom. They are on the big toe region and on the heel. Because the eva sole is exposed foam, you would assume it would be wiser to put the rubber in areas where there are more amounts of contact. Other than that, these are a fantastic shoe. They look amazing on feet and weigh almost nothing. (Just over 4 ounces I believe).

Saucony has provided a great shoe here for minimalist fans. I have gone running in these seven times now and am impressed with how light they are while also having a durable outsole. Still getting used to the slightly different way they carry my feet, but before these I was running in cheap Mossimo canvas flats, so that's not surprising. I am usually a 10 so ordered a 10.5 and they fit snug. One thing I notice is that my inner feet near the big toe are becoming slightly more callused, but that might just be due to the newness of the fit. These should last for a while and they look stylish too!

Great shoes! Love that they are minimalist without having to look bizarre. Very light and comfortable, lots of room in the toes, zero drop, and just a tad bit of padding to smooth out those bumps in the road. I was surprised at how snug the 12s are, since I think of myself as an 11 and usually buy a size up to ensure my toes aren't compressed. So I went for 12.5s.
I'd also recommend: Altra

I concur on theses being true to size. My last two pairs of running shoes were Nike frees. I have also yet to run in these, but they feel amazing so far. I'm mad that Nike has basically abandoned the "free" principle. Yes, I know they still make frees--but now with wayyy too much support. These hattori lc's feel like the future. I can't wait to run in these. Just jogging around my apartment tells me that these encourage a mid-foot strike. Shame on all the shoe mfgrs for forcing heel strikes for the past 40 years. I will update soon.

I wanted to write a very quick review to address the small size comments related to the other version of this shoe. I ordered the new LC's in a size 10 at first after reading that the original Hattori's all ran .5-1 size too small. Well it turned out they must have fixed the issue in the LC version. I had to return and order a 9.5 instead(My actual size). They fit perfectly now! If you order this updated version of the shoe, make sure to order your regular size. :). Will update later on the actual feel after running for a bit.
