In 1977, after many long years being kept a close secret, Saucony® men's shoes and women's shoes were recognized by a small group of serious runners and received an award given by a US magazine. Stemming from that day, Saucony® shoes and clothing have built a reputation for high quality and innovative technical performance for which it is known today.

Four years later, the Saucony® Jazz O, the most popular Saucony (now Saucony® Original) shoe to be made, was launched and in 1991, offered a midsole comprising both cushioning and stability-GRID® resulting in men's and women's shoes that delivered a superior ride.

At Saucony®, they exist for runners. Runners inspire them, bringing new ideas and force the Saucony® brand to be better inside and out. They are the inspiration behind the design and engineering of Saucony's best-made products. Runners keep them competitive, hungry and driven but mostly, honest.

Whether in a conference room, or out on a lunchtime run, Saucony® employees are constantly talking about and arguing about their running clothing, shoes and accessories. They are passionate about their products and run in every product they make. This focus and passion fuels them to create the best Saucony® running pieces on the planet. And they keep an eye toward the future when producing Saucony® kid's shoes. Doing so allows them to come to work each day knowing they've done everything to make runner's lives, regardless of age, just a little bit better.

At Saucony®, a good day is when they get to run. A great day is when they inspire someone else to run.

I love these shoes, they are more "minimal" compared to the Saucony Hurricanes that I was wearing prior to this, so if you like/need cushioning and a bigger heel/toe ratio these may not be the shoes for you. The Guides do still have the same level of control as the Hurricanes so as an overpronator that needs the control but not necessarily the cushioning these work great for me. The heel profile is a little lower than the Hurricanes and I think the arch is perhaps a little lower and I think this has actually helped the plantar fasciitis I was starting to develop with the Hurricanes. I have narrow heels and as often happens with me the heels did start to slip a little after a couple of runs, but making a loop back through the top hole and passing the ends back through the opposite loops I created fixed this problem without putting pressure on the top of my foot. Overall I love how light they feel and I definitely feel faster wearing them. I'm a heavier runner and run around 40 miles/week and the lack of cushioning hasn't been a problem at all for me. I only wish the wide sizes came in the cool colors!

I tried to like these shoes. I really did. They are like the someone you go out with a few times because they're not that bad...everyone else seems to like them so why not give them a chance? The first few times you go out there isn't any magic...but it's not horrible so you give them another shot. Eventually they start rubbing you the wrong way and you realize you have to end it. After running about 30 miles in these shoes I decided it was time to break up. The cushioning feels fine while walking around, but take them for a run on the road and it just isn't enough. Those with average to narrow feet beware, you will feel like your feet are sliding around in these shoes after a few miles. I felt like my heel kept sliding out so I would tighten the laces to compensate, which led to pain on the top of my foot. When I ran more than 4 miles in them a hot spot would start to develop on the inside edge of the ball of my foot. That was the last straw for me, so I ordered some Mizuno Precision 13's...and it was love at first run. Those shoes are everything the Saucony's weren't...comfortable, cushioned, responsive...and best of all they fit my foot like a glove. Sorry Saucony, its not you...it's me. We just weren't right for each other.

I have tried other brands, but I always return to Saucony. This brand was recommended to me by my orthopedist for stability and support as I was healing from a broken foot years ago. They always fit perfectly, and are comfortable right out of the box.

I got fitted for these at a running store, but hated the colors they had in my size (white only!). I use these for running, training and Zumba classes. Everyone at Zumba loves the colors, but I like it for running to so cars can spot me. They are very comfortable with a lot of cushion. They have good arch support.

Love these! After Asics totally redesigned their 2100 series stability shoe to a more minimalist style with far less cushioning I had to find a stability shoe with similar amount of cushioning as Asics 2170. This is the perfect replacement shoe for Asics 2170 if you are looking for stability and cushion. Asics - Big mistake. Saucony guide 6, my new found love.
