I wear a 10.5 shoe in wide. I wore Dansko in size 41 before they split with Sanita. Sanita's uppers tend to be too narrow for my foot, and I got burned on the new Danskos - wide enough, but terribly squeaky soles. And I purchased those after a back-and-forth dance buying and returning multiple pairs of Sanitas and Dankso. This year, I was glad to see that Sanita started making wide widths, but, man alive, I cannot get behind Sanitas. In Sanita size 41, my toes hit the end of the shoes. In Sanita size 42, I can walk right out of the shoes, plus the upper was clearly misshapen and gappy on one shoe. The quality control and consistency on Sanita and Dansko have both really bombed, in my opinion, since the companies parted ways. I'll try sending back the 42's back for another, hopefully better constructed pair, but I'm about to jump ship on Sanita and Dansko altogether. I rated the shoe a full size larger than marked on the basis of my past experience with the old Danskos.

Okay, so I too wear a 10.5 Wide and before the Sanita/Dansko schism I wore a 41 regular in non-Chinese Danskos. I cannot stuff my foot into a Dansko anymore; however, Sanitas still work for me, but not in Wide. The Wide is a weird wide, the toe box is the same size but the heel is wider than a regular width. As the previous reviewer, my size 41 foot now hits the end of the shoe but the 42 Wide is like a clown shoe. The solution for me is a 42 regular which fit perfectly, like my old Danskos.

I work as a waitress hard tile floors up and down stairs. It is hard for me to find 11W shoes that do not give me a backache. I wore these once, and my heels constantly slipped out and in five hours my back ached.

I ordered these and exchanged them because one shoe was 0.5cm wider than the other shoe. I had the same issue with the exchanged set. I will not be ordering another pair.

Best shoe investment I ever made! It's totally worth it! I can honestly say that at first it was kind of an awkward fit or slightly stiff but once you "break them in" after a week or so...then they are great! I wear them all the time. Sometimes I have to force myself to wear something different because my other shoes are collecting dust (yes I'm exaggerating a bit). Enjoy! Friendly note: remember this is a clog so it's not supposed to fit exactly snug.. There should be about an inch or less of space in the back and your heel might lift a little when walking.

About Sanita
Since 1907, Sanita® has embraced the Danish word "hygge" (pronounced hue-guh) in the construction of each and every pair of Sanita clogs. Loosely translated, "hygge" means "making everything cozy". Clean design, natural materials and fine craftsmanship are just a few things that make Sanita clogs so special. Christian Andersen, Sanita's founder, utilized these three things to help make Sanita what it is today. Andersen left his career as a farmer forever when he began creating clogs out of wood. After a half-century of building the business, Christen and his son Johannes closed their successful store and completely devoted themselves to designing and distributing footwear. This risky maneuver paid off in the early 1980's.
1983 marked a definitive year for Sanita - that's the year that Christian discovered a factory in Italy that made cast soles out of polyurethane. This innovate new technology allowed Sanita to shape clog bottoms to fit the anatomical shape of the foot. With heel, arch and toe support and added shock absorption, the polyurethane heel combined with the upturned toe of the Sanita clog provided unmatched comfort and launched each and every step with a simple rolling motion. Thus, the Sanita Original Collection (then the San-Flex) was born and is still made in Europe.

While they fit perfectly for my hard to high instep, there is a problem with these shoes for me. The joint of the two pieces of leather lies right at the arch of my foot. This rubs at the arch and is very irritating. Even just wearing them around my house for a few minutes to get the feel for them, I noticed this pain in my arch. I don't think I could walk all day in these without getting a blister on my arch. Not the comfortable shoe I was hoping for. I will be returning them.

Excellent shoe. I had another pair of Sanitas that had a lower sole and I loved them but I could not find them again. I bought Danskos because everyone had them but i was not impressed. I just got these Sanitas to replace the Danskos and I am very happy with them. Much more comfortable. perfect!

Very satisfied. I tend to have trouble with width of shoes, but this is very true to sizing. Sanita used to make Dansko, but with changes of manufacturer, they do not fit me as well any more. These were great. Ordered several pairs, returned those that did not fit. (I have had to try larger size in past due to need for width.) Shoes came very quickly and credit processed quickly. Very satisfied!

I should have listened to the other reviewers -- spot on, sisters! I've worn Danskos for 15+ years. When they started with the cheaper sole, it was really noticeable (especially the squeak that appeared), so I finally decided to try Sanitas. I have always been a size 40. I could hardly get my foot into the 40! Compared to my old Danskos, the sole is identical, but the upper is much narrower. So I tried the 40 wide. As others have said, the leather kind of ripples on the side. Plus, they are way too wide. It's a joke for this price.
