This is my third pair of Salomon shoes and they are by far my favorite! Super lightweight and comfy. They have great arch support and traction. I got tons of compliments on them. I got the green pair and love them! I love Zappos!

This is a great, very lightweight shoe. Instead of a bulky gusseted tongue, it has a mesh screen between the laces and tongue. The entire upper is designed to be breathable, great for those hot days on the trail (or road). I have a somewhat narrow foot and narrow heals and average arch. These fit like a glove. I feel supported, but not weighed down, in these. Salomon's lacing system can't be beat. The shoe goes on and off in a flash, and is incredibly easy to adjust mid-run. I have several Salomon shoes and love them all. They are very durable. Also love that they usually offer color choices.

I'm an avid runner and have worn Adidas for years. I decided to try Salomon after a friend suggested them. Although they a super-cute and ultra-light, I do not recommend them for running. My feet and ankles hurt more with these than with any other shoe I have ever tried. I have received several compliments on them, I bought green, and I do love the way they look and the convenience of the laces, but will definitely not purchase Salomon running shoes again. From now on, I'm sticking with my tried and true Adidas.

These are light and comfortable and didn't require a breakin period. Many shoes have tight toe boxes for me, but these are great. I use them for running in dog agility and received several compliments on them. If you are running in dirt, some will get through the mesh, but not as much as with similar shoes that I have.

I love these shoes. I have been wearing Salomon shoes for ten years and this is my favorite. Very light with just enough structure. (I have flat feet and I use super feet in all of my shoes so that might contribute.) I have had no problem on super technical trails which tend to be wet around here. Fine on the road too. True to Salomon sizing which I think runs a little big. I wear a 9-9.5 normally but always an 8.5 in Salomon. Lots of compliments on the color!

The shoe fit like a glove. It just hugged your foot. No uncomfortable stitch feeling on the inside. Great support for my plantar fasciitis.

This is the first pair of Salomons I have ever purchased. I bought them a half size larger as I usually do with my Nikes, but found out after my first use I didn't need to. The shoe has a very roomy toe box. I later bought my regular size and love the fit even though I have wide feet. The shoe is light, the tongue is a little big, but tolerable, and no break-in time is needed. I live in the desert so I can't say whether or not the shoe has great traction in rain, but I can say they are great in dirt! I'm saying goodbye to my Nikes and Avias. Salomons are my new favorite.

I love these sneakers. They are extremely comfortable, and quite attractive on your feet. I have had them for a good month, and wear them every day for 12 hours a day. The laces have not stretched out or have had to be readjusted after the first wear. They are also holding up very well with the constant wear.

I recently developed planters fasciitis from those toning sneakers. When I went to the foot doctor he told me to buy good trail running shoes. After much searching and reviews I bought the XR Crossmax neutral and another pair of Salomon never hearing about them before, I bought strictly on reviews. I am so happy that I did! these shoes are so amazing and provide major comfort. I have a very wide foot, often needing an 8½WWW, so I was a bit timid purchasing these in a medium width. After reading the online reviews I decided to try the 9½. These shoes run wide in the toe box only due to the high arch support, which I am so thankful for.

I really like these shoes! They are a good looking color and style. I walk all day for my job so I am always looking for shoes that remain comfortable after 6 hours of walking. These shoes are 4 hours of comfort then my feet ache. A little more cushion would help me. I am walking on concrete, so for a hiker on dirt I think comfort would remain for feet. I would give 5 stars if I didn't have such high expectations for shoes! The arch support is great.

So this is my very first review of any product I've ever bought. I felt compelled to write a review on this shoe because it has changed my life. After many years of looking (and loads of money) for a shoe that would allay my plantar fascia, I have finally found the one: Salomon (I'm doing the review on the Neutral but other Salomons also work for my feet, but Neutral is the best so far). I will soon be on my feet 12 hrs/day as a nurse, and no longer do I feel any anxiety about my feet. I've already done several shifts for 12 hrs or more, and so far, so good. In addition to the Neutrals, I also bought a pair of Gore-Tex Comp 6 (?), which I plan to use as snow and rain boots. Thanks Salomon! And of course, Zappos as always, rocks on the customer service (Zappos has shipped many shoes to me as I tried to find the right shoe so thank you).

I was so excited to get these for trail running. However, I would not recommend these shoes for running at all. There is a rubber strip that runs around the back and side edge of the inner sole that gives me a blister on my arches on both feet. I have worn them for six runs now with different socks hoping they would work, but to no avail. While they may look great and work great as a casual shoe, I would not recommend them for running. Sorry Salomon, I wanted to love them.
Brands I'd also recommend: Asics, Nike

I was a little nervous about purchasing this pair of Salomons. I had purchased 3 pairs (yes, you can call me crazy) of the purple XT Wings 2, and by the 3rd pair, I noticed that they had changed something with the cushioning. Those were my favorite. When I got these, the first thing that struck me was the gray band that goes across the shoe near the top of your foot. It was quite tight for my flat, wide feet. After a few times wearing them, I no longer noticed the tightness. The support was good though not as good as my first pair of the XT Wings 2. I took these on a vacation and walked a lot. They're good shoes though I can't say they are great.

I had been in search of the perfect pair of woman's trail shoes for awhile. Although I have a great pair of Asics that have treated me well, I had always heard great things about Salomon shoes. I loved the color and went for them. I just received them yesterday (after quick shipping) and they fit amazingly. At the balls of your feet, there's a gel cushion (almost feels like memory foam) that supports your feet tremendously. It feels great and I couldn't be more happier about my purchase! They don't have traditional laces, so once you get comfortable with the amount of tightness you want, then you're set to go!
Brands I'd also recommend: Asics

This is a beautiful shoe with a nicely cushioned foot bed and great arch support. I am reviewing this shoe as a runner (I wear running shoes for running...not for running errands). I run on hilly dirt/gravel roads and these provide great traction and cushioning on the downhills and also have water resistance. The Salomon lacing system is awesome and have stuck with Salomon running shoes because I'm in love with the laces and the quality. Prior to purchasing this Crossmax Neutral, I have been wearing the "Salomon XT Wings 2" for years...both the regular and the Gore-Tex versions. The Wings actually fit my foot better than these Crossmax shoes. Every foot is different and it is a very personal decision when it comes to fit. So I am not saying that this shoe is bad, I will just say the Wings work better for my foot shape. The Crossmax is a slightly lower profile shoe around the shoe opening and the back. Also the sizing is different. For reference and comparison, my Wings size 6.5 fits my foot perfectly. The 6.5 in these Crossmax are about 1/2 size too large in the toebox. I tried the size 6 but my toes were too close to the end so I ended up keeping the 6.5. I plan on using these Crossmax shoes when I run on harder surfaces ie: treadmill or concrete since the cushioning is superb. The appearance of this shoe is awesome. I love the look of black running shoes and this is so cool looking with the touch of yellow. I definitely recommend trying this shoe and seeing if it works for your foot. There are so many great things to say about it. (You may want to try the XT Wings 2 as well sold here at Zappos.) Hope this helps someone!
