I scored these fabulous shoes for a whopping at a local bargain outfitter, and of the many pairs of trail running/ outdoor performance shoes that I have tried, these rank among the top. The toggle allows for simple and easy adjustment - much better than laces in my opinion, and the OrthoLite insoles provide the perfect amount of support for someone who has spent the last ten years inserting orthotics into her shoes. I would recommend these to anyone looking for a solid pair of shoes; these shoes take care of your body and are perfect for standing in all day (which I do).

I love these shoes. I'm on my third pair of this style - I replace them every four years or so and wear them around town and hiking (not trail running). The insole is updated and very cushy, but does not accommodate orthotics on top (I removed the insole and put in old Salomon sock liners, then my orthotics.) I prefer the mesh version to the Gore-Tex because of better breathability.

I purchased this shoe in swamp/dark clay in a size 9. I usually wear between an 8.5 and a 9. These fit deliciously. I just pulled them out of the box and tried them on. I don't want to take them off! When I first put on the left shoe, I noticed that there was a little tightness on the top of my foot underneath the loops that hold the laces. After about 4 minutes, this feeling went away. I have a narrow foot and found these to have great arch support and I like the higher heel that keeps my foot snug. The toe box is a bit wider than a tennis shoe, but not uncomfortably so. I don't feel like my foot is sliding around. There is room for a thick hiking sock, and enough toe space to avoid 'toe jam' during descent. I tried them on with thin Hanes ankle socks and they were very comfortable. Love this shoe; will be purchasing more shoes from this brand - "The Mountain Sports Company," Salomon.

For me, these shoes ran really long. There is much room in the toe box. I usually wear a 7.5-8 and had to order these in a 6.5 to fit correctly. Otherwise, great shoe!

Great shoe! Love the lacing system. The shoe definitely runs long though. I had to order one whole size smaller to get the correct fit. I could probably even use a half size less.

These are great trail shoes, especially the lacing system. They took about a week to break in, but ever since they are a dream. Good traction and the fit is true to size. I have been wearing Salomon trail shoes for 5 years and it's clear I will remain a loyal fan.

I can't say enough good things about this great shoe! I needed a really stable, multi-purpose shoe to get me through a lot of steep trail hiking in Sedona. I have a history of bad ankle sprains and needed a shoe with a wide base of support in the heel. This one was perfect! My ankles never once even hinted at rolling, even on rocks and going both up and down steep inclines. We even hiked on slick rock in the rain and not one slip! As a bonus, they were narrow and low-profile enough that I found myself wearing them everywhere the entire week. My other shoes never made it out of my bag! Now they're comfy enough to stand in at work all day. If you need stability on rough, wet, or steep terrain, I found this to be a great choice! The lacing system is a pain at first and won't let you adjust the grip of the heel, but it grew on me and I now like it okay. I normally wear a 10 and a 9.5 fit great.

Great trail walking shoe! Breathes well, and has great arch support. Had to order a half size smaller than my normal size 7 to get a good fit length-wise. Bit roomy in front for toes compared to the snug fit through the mid foot and heel.

LOVE these shoes! Just bought my second pair, in the grey/iris color, which I love. They have superior arch support and are cuter than most running shoes. I pretty much live in these, around town, out hiking, even to the gym. They’re great for travel. They do run long, as other reviewers have pointed out. The lacing system works for my narrow/shallow foot. In New Balance and Asics I wear 11AA. In these, the 10 fits great.

I just got these today and I still have them on! I already adore these shoes. They are very comfortable and supportive. The pull-lace design is easy and stays tight. I am almost always a size 8.5 in shoes (sometimes a 9), and due to the reviews on Zappos I got an 8. They fit perfectly. Be sure to go down half-a-size! I cant wait to wear these to my retail job.

These are definitely for me. I have flat feet, no arches and severe arthritis in my toes. I give 10 stars to Zappos for putting up with all my purchases/returns in the last 30 days. With winter setting in, my feet are very sensitive and I really wanted something that would feel like wearing an old pair of gloves. These definitely fit the bill and I have ordered three different colors. Wouldn't think of shopping for shoes anywhere else and have sent several friends to Zappos and they could not believe the great service they got. I took the advice of many of the previous reviews and ordered a 1/2 size smaller. They work just great. Support within the foot is just wonderful.

Excellent fit for me. Extremely stable footing, with an extra wide heel, a roomy toe box, and a robust tread. Comfortable out of the box. I need these shoes for hiking archeological sites in Israel, and so far, wearing them around town, I'm impressed. The quick lace system has more cons than pros, in my opinion. The shoes lace quickly, with easy adjustment to just the right tension, but the instructions are not clear on how to store the lacing mechanism, which is composed of two plastic parts. I assume they fit into the tongue pocket, along with the slack "thread", but inserting them into the pocket after the shoes have been laced up has eluded me, so far. Once the shoes are laced up, the pocket becomes hard to open, and I find it impossible to stuff the plastic lacing mechanism and extra lacing material into the available space quickly and easily. Consequently, the laces work themselves out of the pocket and dangle off the shoe in short order. Frankly, I can't see how this is an improvement over regular shoelaces that you simply tie in a double knot. Fit is the most important criterion for me, so I'm keeping the shoes.

These shoes are great multi purpose hiking/walking/running shoes. They fit my wide toed, narrow heeled, size 7 foot perfectly. Great support for my high (but failing) arches, my heels don't slip, I can wiggle my toes, and the laces stay put. Good shoes + good socks = miles of comfortable feet!

Fantastic shoe. Ready to hit the pavement, right out of the box. No break in period needed. This is my third pair of Salomon. I am in love with the fit and the quick lace system. These shoes wash up beautifully and dry quickly. By the way, the green color is more soft and muted than the picture shows and it looks great with the gray accent.

I've been pretty happy with my Vasque Blurs for hiking desert mountain trails, but was tempted by the Salomon reviews to give them a try. Like them at least as much and possibly more than the Vasque... only time will tell. The only problem is that I wrongly followed some of the advice here that they run bigger than most trail runners, so ordered an 8.5 instead of a 9. Bad move...but thanks to Zappos return policy, only a minor hassle. I wear an 8.5 in "normal" shoes, typically a 9 in my trail runners, and that's just exactly what I needed in the Salomon. The lacing system was a bit of a concern as I've developed a unique lacing job because of my Morton's neuroma and high arch. But no problem! Love the lacing system. Hoping it holds up. I have a lot of arthritis and one year post knee surgery. While I need a lot of cushioning in a shoe, I don't like too much support as I like to be able to "feel" the trail - I like to feel low and close to the ground. These seem to do the job. Plenty of room in the toe box yet the shoe holds my heel snug and in place. Wore them around the house a bit before my first hike, but plenty comfy on that first hike.

The Only Athletics I'll buy! Solomon are the best! I've owned many different styles and love them all. I tend to get the men's because this brand always runs narrow (and I have normal to narrow feet) so mens offer that extra width for comfort. But wanted a light color for summer and went for these, they were a bit snug at first but quickly stretched out perfectly. I can't say enough about Solomon for any athletic style shoe, they are without a doubt, "THE BEST", and the pull tie is awesome! They also last forever. I hike with dogs every day and tend to need about 1 pair a year, they last forever, dry quick and are so comfy that you forget you are wearing shoes at all. There is always room for my orthodics too.
