I just came back from 6 weeks of backpacking through SE Asia in these shoes. They were wonderful! I have a really high arch and I was concerned that they would not be supportive enough. However, they were so comfortable and supported my high arch with an 30 extra pounds on my back. Great for hiking, caving, biking and still looked great when I was in big stylish cities. They are lightweight and keep my feet nice and cool. I'd recommend these to anybody!

The shoe seem pretty stiff straight out of the box, would probably have loosened up. I need arch support, but this seemed excessive. Out of the 5 shoes I tried, it did come in second, though.

I love these shoes! Definitely order at least a half size or whole size smaller, as they run big. I had to send the first pair back. I no longer have to wear my Super Feet inserts with these because they have great arch support. I work out in them and wear them everywhere. Very comfortable. I think I'll be buying Salomon for life now.

I own the Salomon XA Pro 3D Ultra 2 and a part of the Amphibian Water shoes, and have tried on other Salomon shoes. I wear a size 9, and I know if I order a size 9 it will be true to size. The arch support is excellent, and are roomy in all the right places without feeling too loose. These are so comfortable!! I can wear these all day and forget I have shoes on. I also noticed the ability to walk longer distances and stand for longer periods of time without my feet, legs and back hurting. My search for good shoes is over!

I have two other pairs of Salomon for walking my dog in at times rocky, dirt road, uphill terrain. Like the other Salomons, these grip the ground far more securely than an ordinary athletic shoe. If my dog and I chose, we could walk the hills all the way to the Hollywood sign in these! The color and style are trendier than the other two pairs. However, these are a tad tighter than the ordinary lace ups by the same company. The regular lace ups are roomier and cheaper. Just so other buyers know. As always, Zappos provides wonderful, risk free choices!

I use this shoe for trails and mountain biking. It fits a little larger in the toe but after riding, it's nice to have the room to move a bit. The tread is great for gripping trails and pedals. It isn't as cushioning as a running shoe but is as lightweight and flexible. I have Merrell hiking shoes which are very nice but much stiffer than the Salomon. These are great for what I got them for, they drain well when wet and clean up after a dirty day in the woods. Plus, they look good too.

I always wear a 7 in athletic shoes, and needed to order 1/2 size down in these. Love the quick laces. Seem more rugged than the Merrells I typically order.

I bought these shoes because I wanted a good pair of running shoes that provided great support. The shoe fulfills the support and comfort requirements, which is terrific. My one complaint is the laces, which is why I gave it 4 stars. They are not your conventional laces and seem to slacken after a few minutes of walking or running. I find myself stopping often enough to draw the laces taut. This, as you can imagine, is quite annoying. I'm not sure if I got a faulty pair plus it's probably too late to return the shoes because I've already worn them. At any rate, I am happy with my Salomon XA Pro 3D Ultra 2 and would recommend them to anyone looking for a comfortable pair of running shoes. Just double check the laces before venturing out! Happy trails...

Great fitting shoe, love the arch support I use it for hiking, biking and walking the dogs. I'm a consistent size 9 in all shoes and these fit fine, the shoe has a slightly roomy toe box, but the 8.5 felt like it would be too snug on sweaty feet.

This shoe has great arch support and lots of padding, making it very comfortable. I went by the European sizing, and was able to get the correct fit. I normally wear a 39, so the 7 1/2 was perfect.

Really like this shoe but found it for 103.00 at Back Country and free two day shipping. Called Zappos and asked if would match the price. No- so back they went and I ordered from Back Country.

My third pair of Salomons XA Pros. They work well for narrow feet. As usual ordered down a size. Supportive and great for everyday casual and trail use. I do wish they'd reinforce every eyelet and bring back a lighter gray color. This season's colors are all so dark and heavy looking.
