This my third pair of the same shoes. Over fields, down hiking paths, up small mountains, through rainy Seattle streets, and Florida's wet summers, these are my perfect, out of the box fitting, choice. I just received the latest edition and they fit like custom made, right out of the box.

Stiff shoe. Runs at least a 1/2 to a full size larger. Recommend sizing down. Concerns on how thin the shoe's laces are, also.

Stiff shoe. Runs at least a 1/2 to a full size larger. Recommend sizing down. Concerns on how thin the shoe's laces are, also.

Love these shoes, and I think this is the prettiest color ever, which is a richer burgundy than this photo shows. I have owned many pairs of Salomon Gore-Tex shoes and keep coming back for more. I wear them on trips to Europe in the fall when it's rainy and the waterproofing is quite effective. The laces are Kevlar and I've never had one break, but REI does sell replacement laces. Also, there is a place on the tongue of the shoe to tuck in the lace ends. The lacing makes the shoes easy to take off (and later put back on) on an airplane or at the movies. (The Gore-Tex does make them rather warm after awhile so it's nice to be able to get them on and off easily.) Sorry I can't comment on the sizing, except to say that I know I always wear a 10 in Salomons so at least they have very consistent sizing within the brand.

Love this shoe! Very comfortable and great for being out in wet grass- feet stay nice and dry! I wear them to all my son's games when the grass is still damp and also run in them. Perfect for unpredictable Michigan weather!

This shoe has a wide toe box and the sole is very stiff. It does not have the rocker type sole that a running shoe has, it is very sturdy and well built but felt to stiff.
