Salomon Kids Reviews
Poorly made for such a nice looking and comfortable shoe! The toggle cords are thin and long so there is a lot of excess. There is a mesh pocket on the tongue flap of the shoe for excess cord (which you can't see from the picture) but it got holes in the mesh within weeks of wearing it. After 3 months of everyday use the stitching on the shoe is coming apart. I am returning these and got the Teva Churn which is very similar looking to this shoe, has a much sturdier cord and toggle, and hasn't fallen apart.
My son enjoyed these shoes. Mothers beware, the toggle drags and bounces on the floor which poses a danger when running. The toggle broke within 4 weeks. I suggest picking a different non tie shoe.
My middle schooler needed an easy on/off shoe that didn't look too "toddlerish" with velcro. The Kids XA Pro 2 seemed to be the answer! But, after 1 month of every day school use (from a kid who is NOT hard on shoes) the stitching is coming apart and there are holes in the mesh part that holds the bungee lace! I think the shoe will come apart after another month and it's a shame because it is a nice looking shoe.
I purchased the North Face Betasso, Salomon Kids XA & Teva Charge WP K's for my son to choose from. Between the 3 styles the Salomons were clearly less quality. The elastic ties are flimsy and the toggle hard to adjust. The shoes had glue on the seams. The North Face Betasso are great and equal quality to the Teva's. (if you order Teva's order one size bigger than your regular shoe size) between the three it is a close tie between Teva's and North Face. The Teva's shoe is a bit more streamline where as the north face are a bit more clunky. Don't waste your time or money on the Salomons they truly do not even compared to their competitors. But, if the Salomon's are on sale for around half this price that would be a purchase you can feel good about. But, definitely not worth the price.
Excellent Product! My only comment would be that the Salomon system is a little bit difficult for a 5 years old boy.
I bought these for my nine year old. When I opened the box his immediate response was "awesome!" It is a very good looking sneaker with a pretty cool color. My son said it was really comfortable and wanted to wear it immediately. It appears to be well made and has a really good fit. I recommend!
My 11 year old is really enjoying these shoes. Says they are very comfortable and I think the colors are great since his foot is so wide these are working out great.
My 9-year old son picked these out and he's pretty happy with them. I had hoped that the laces would make it quicker and easier for him to get them on/off, but I don't think they're any faster than regular laces. And he ends up with a lot of excess lacing that he ends up weaving through the laces - making it that much tougher to loosen them up later. I think we'll go with regular laces next time. He does really like the look of them and, once he gets them on, they work well.
Bought these for my son age 9. He normally needs a wide for the shoe to be comfortable. These we bought a half size larger in the normal (medium) width and a month later he still loves them. Great fit, great look. Zappos shipping and customer service is awesome!
These shoes are very comfortable and look just as nice as they do on the picture! I bought these for my son and he loved them. The best part is that I do not see too many people wearing this type of shoe. I like it when what I wear is not too popular!

My son had another pair of bungee style shoes that he loved -- but I hated. These ones we both love! He thinks they're comfortable and I think they look cool. It's a win-win.

We bought these for my 9 year old son to take to summer camp and do lots of running and hiking and camping. I don't think they came off his feet. They look great, feel good to him. Ya-hoo.
