I bought these shoes for my son. He put them on, and we did a 3 day hike right away. He never complained...and he even said they were the most comfortable shoes he ever had. He is usually a 7.5, but I could only buy an 8 (first men's size available). They were okay with an insole added. Very good in deep mud (his feet remained dry) and on difficult trails. He is very happy about these shoes!

I just got a pair of these shoes and the first thing I noticed was the precise fit. As a person who always seems to have a problem finding shoes that fit well the immediate comfort I felt was a pleasant surprise. I went for a 2½ hour hike in rough terrain right after purchasing the shoes and was blown away at just how well they performed. Sure footedness as well as comfort went hand in hand.

I've been wearing these shoes (or one of the preceding models) almost daily for many years now. I usually need to replace them after about a year because the soles are worn off, and sometimes the shoes start coming apart as well. I do walk a few miles on asphalt each day during the week, and go hiking (or snowshoeing) in various terrain on most weekends, so I guess that's to be expected.
