These felt great from the second I first put them on! Who knew that hiking shoes really make a difference on those uneven, tree root covered trails? I usually wear running shoes and feel like I'm risking twisting my ankle with every step, but these provide great stability and support. And my wide feet didn't even get blisters on a 4 hour hike!

I have tried several different brands of hiking shoes and in most cases needed a half size larger. Not the case with these so I would say they run true to size or maybe a little larger. They did feel a little too stiff. Good looking shoe but for me they were not as comfortable as Merrell. Thanks to Zappos' policy, I was able to try several brands until I found one that fits me perfectly. I will return these.

Finally shoes with a wider toe box! No more squished up toes! These are wide enough for my orthotics which include a higher arch. Salomons are my choice for all shoes and boot. I love my winter snow boots, too.. (Of note, my feet are wide in the toe area, narrow in the heel and has a high arch. They have good and comfortable ankle support for low-hiking shoes/boots.
Brands I'd also recommend: Just Salomon!

Besides the fact that these are a comfortable active shoe and a variety of foot minded additions, it is all highly appreciated. But surprisingly and because Salomon has made these shoes with the thinner heel (made for the woman's feet), these actually helped me stop the plantar fasciitis I had been enduring for 3 years. I will continue buying these products forever if they continue addressing the needs of women's feet. Bravo!
