Not Pleased - Every time I wear these shoes - and I still wear them, because my trusty Merrells were trashed when I ordered these last year - I hate them. There is one issue that makes them suck: the stiff, poorly padded tongue of the shoe under the laces. When I lace them up snugly - NOT tight or cinched all the way down, but just snugly - they cut off circulation in my feet and I get excruciating pins and needles, and have to undo them entirely. I have narrow feet, so the issue is not that my feet are simply too big for the shoe. I have a choice when I wear these shoes: lace them so loose that they are totally unsuited for hiking (rubs a blister on the back of my heel on flat ground, causes my toes to slide and jam into the footbox walking downhill), or lace them up proper and have to pause every 20 minutes and undo them to relieve the pain in my feet. With my Merrells, I could really crank the lacing down and had no problem. SO, so, so disappointed with these shoes. I see no need to ever buy from Solomon again. I mean, the equivalent Merrells are more comfortable, approximately the same price, and they're waterproof. I bought these because they were gray and because I could buy them from Zappos. I'll certainly buy from Zappos again, but next time I'll stick to a brand I know and trust. PS - the woven fabric around the ankle caught on a twig and ripped within the first month of ownership. So not well-designed for durability, either.

Looked good (paler that I thought but I liked that better), comfy and looks great worn round the local park or trekking in the mountains.

Great hiking and walking shoes - I hiked all over the south island of New Zealand in these shoes and now that I'm home, they're my favorite walking shoe. They look great (I bought the dark clay and orange style) and are very comfortable and offer good support over rocks and unstable ground. I even walked on snow fields with them! I bought my usual size and found I had room for thick hiking socks. They feel a bit big with light socks.

These are great shoes - I have plantar fasciitis in my left foot and haven't found a shoe yet which can alleviate that. I try new work out shoes about every 6 months. These are quite supportive and nice looking. I would recommend them over a white running shoe any day. I do 45 min. of cardio work out about 3-4 times a week and I'm 41 y.o. I have a pair of Salomon Winter Clogs and they are some of the most comfortable and durable shoes I own.

Great construction - I bought these to rotate out for standing long hours at work. I found they have great construction, but needed more padding (I added an aftermarket upper end innersole) in the sole (truthfully, I have bursitis of the heel). But they are breathable, have room for wool socks and are cute to boot. I'm buying this shoe in another color. I have a big foot for a lady - 12M and this fits ¼ size bigger (which really is an advantage when the feet swell after 12 hours on them (no toe nudge)). Thank you Salomon for making shoes for the bigger lady and thanks Zappos for the supreme service, I've been buying for several years now and sell you to all my friends!

Elios - I found this shoe to be light, well made and fairly comfortable. I did expect a bit more arch support and footbed support, but all in all, this is a good shoe. It should take a beating and give good wear. I ordered the black...not the most feminine style out there. You may want to order the lighter color if this is an issue for you.

Salomon Elios - I'm a fan of Salomon shoes because of how they fit me but the Elios has been the best so far and a lifesaver for me. After an accident this past summer and 4 fractured bones in my right foot, this shoe offered the comfort and support I needed to start walking without crutches again. The pair I bought from Zappos is actually the second pair of the same shoe I bought, as I wanted a back-up pair. I bought the gray and love them. Normally, I do not wear athletic type shoes with jeans but the gray blends with the denim enough not to stand out. I think Zappos is the greatest online store and will continue to shop with them.

Couldn't ask for more... Super nice shoe! Nice and sturdy, but not too heavy. I truly rely on Salomon for making such remarkable shoes. It seems they do tend to run a bit big, but my normal size still fits fine. I just have a tiny bit of extra room, so no worries. I'm a zoo keeper and on my feet all day. This shoe not only looks great, but my feet love them. Not to mention I get tons of compliments when I'm wearing them. I've been so impressed with Salomon over the years! If you haven't tried them, go ahead and splurge...they're completely worth it. And kudos to Zappos for their continued commitment toward providing superior customer service. They are simply the best at what they do! Thanks, Zappos!

Salomon's Elios - Didn't have the support on the arch I was looking for. My feet were hurting after only a couple hours of walking. I was expecting more comfort and support. They were wider than expected. I loved the look.

Super sturdy! This is my second pair of Solomon shoes and I can't say enough about them. My other pair is 5-years-old and still in good shape. The only reason I got a new pair was because the others were all mesh and I needed these for the winter. No other shoe I have stands up like these, for comfort or wear. These are a bit wider cut. They have great traction and my other soles, which are like these, have walked the Disney parks four times in the last five years. Super comfortable shoes!

Great shoe for trekking - We went on a five day trek in the foothills of Dhauladhar range of Himalayas. We have done a few other treks in the Himalayan region, but never before had I used a special trekking shoe. I used cross-trainers so far. This first trekking shoe was great for me. I was little worried if the size would be fine. It fitted me perfectly. Excellent in comfort. Only after the trek one side seam seems to have opened.

Finally a shoe that will work for me! I've searched far and high for a black athletic type shoe that will fit with my new plastic leg, with a removable foot bed liner! Recently was diagnosed with perennial nerve palsy and have a brace that goes down the back of my calf, part way around my ankle and completely under my foot. I've had to return 3 pair of different brands before I finally ordered these, after deciding that looking in local shoe stores is a bit too much for me, since I can't wear cute shoes any more. If you have a wide foot, these WILL work for you. Thank you Zappos for wonderful service!

Favorite shoes - I am recovering from severe Achilles tendonitis and need a sturdy, supportive shoe - particularly in the heel and ankle that will accommodate my orthotics. Not only does this shoe do all of that, it also provides comfort. It has become my favorite pair and I love the shoe.

Perfect hiking shoe - Purchased these for a trip to Iceland which involved a lot of hiking in rainy, muddy conditions and scrambling over wet rocks and sand. They were perfect! My feet were always warm and dry and they have great traction. They were comfortable from the first moment I put them on. Highly recommend.

Get hiking – I saw this shoe reviewed in an outdoor/fitness magazine as best hiker. I walk everyday and love this shoe. It is very supportive and comfortable. I plan to take it to the Great Smoky Mountains this Sept. for a week of hiking.
