This is my fifth pair of Salomon. They all were comfortable as bedroom slippers right out of the box. I use them for work and hiking. I always get them a size larger than what I normally wear in athletic shoes and they fit perfectly. This style was a bit more expensive than others models that I have had but they are still worth it.

The first you notice about these boots is that they are extremely comfortable. I use these boots for hiking, for riding my motorcycle, and just casually trekking around town. I usually wear them with dark boot-cut jeans. I've gotten several compliments for how good they look. I only wish they had an option without the yellow parts but it's not that big of a deal. Ultimately, these are just an awesome pair of boots that is priced just right.

These are great day hikers, that were comfortable out of the box and fit perfectly. The shank is not as stiff as a hi-end hiker but it is good enough. The sole was flexible around the ball of the foot like a sneaker but much stiffer, you certainly could not walk on you toes like a hi-end hiker. They felt really comfortable. I wore them with wool socks and they worked out well.

Perfect mix, not too stiff and boot like and not to flimsy like an ultralight trail runner. Great for backpacking and long day hikes. I have always doubted reviews that say this but I literally wore them 30 miles of the box without a single problem. After looking for years, I finally found my shoe! Only complaint is I wish they were lighter in color. It has not been a problem yet, but I wonder if they will be hot in summer.

Used the boots for a hike down and up the Grand Canyon with a 40 pound pack. I weigh 220 and have flat-ish feet. Feet felt very comfortable the entire trip, arch and ankle support were great. Snow at the South Rim and rain at Bright Angel made wet trails, the Gore-Tex kept my feet dry. Fit is true to size, definitely recommend for any measure of hiking. I used the stock inserts.

Awesome, versatile light hiker! The black gets dirty easy. Great looking, great fitting boot. Pictures don't do 'em justice. GET THESE! Salomon shoes are TOPS!

These are very lightweight and supportive, perfect for longer hikes and walks. The tried and tested Gore Tex keeps my feet warm and dry walking through the rain and wet terrain. I couldn't believe how lightweight they were when the box arrived to my house as size 13 boots are typically very bulky. This is my third pair of Salomon Gore Tex shoes. Though they are a little on the pricey side, they are durable and long lasting. My first pair wore out after almost two years of constant use and the second are still going after one year. Thanks to Zappos excellent customer service, this is the second pair of footwear I ordered that arrived earlier than scheduled.

These are great hiking shoes. I've never been much of a hiker, but I've always been a big city walker. Until now, I thought hiking meant wearing giant stiff casts on my feet and ankles, in order to induce a Frankenstein creature-like strut. These shoes are light and flexible in all the right places. They are broken in out of the box, so no need to torture yourself for a few weekends before they do what they are supposed to do, which is help you trudge over hills and across streams without thinking about your feet.

I read a review in Zappos by a delivery guy in Buffalo NY who wore these boots every day for a year. Who better to test a pair of boots than a delivery guy in Buffalo NY other than maybe a marathon runner in Antarctica. So I bought a pair and wore them for two weeks. Then I bought two more pairs and put them in storage just in case Salomon stops making them.

I liked these boots a lot before, but after shoveling through 2 feet of snow tonight, I love them. Not a drop of moisture came through and my feet were warmmmm with regular socks on. They are light and surefooted and look great with jeans.

Mailman walks 7-8 hours a day - In Buffalo weather they stand up day in & out. I have 550 houses per day, 1/2 have 7-9 stairs up & down. These Salomon Fastpackers are light and good for fast movement across all different surfaces, wet or dry. Good fit for me, wide toe box without wide size.

My boots - I truly enjoy these boots, as they are very comfortable. I have a couple other pairs of Salomon in the running shoes area, but this is my first pair of Salomon boots and I am pleased with them. We have some serious snow and cold weather in Germany and these shoes are just delivering best comfort and reliability. I like outdoors and all kind of physical activities and these shoes are perfect for my life style.

Great Hikers - These are great lightweight boots, great for winter. Don't yet know them in other seasons. Nice wide soles for sure footing. Recommend them for women looking for a wider shoe. Fantastic service with Zappos!

Technically a great boot, very light for how stable they feel, especially over lumpy terrain like river beds or sharp rocks. Black diamond crampons fit like a glove. Arch support is not there, if you're flat footed like me you'll need a good heat molded type inner sole (I use formthotics). I find they don't stretch all that well, so after a couple hours into a hike I have to loosen the laces. The only other negative is they've put a seam right where your heel is; I have soft pansy feet so have to tape up to overcome this. All things considered they're almost perfect for fast 2-3 day hikes and I'm yet to find something better, but on the lookout!
