Salomon Reviews
Love the color and they fit like a glove, except the sole is an aggressive lug design and if you stand in one spot you can almost feel the lugs. This shoe fit my narrow foot well, but I did not anticipate the lug design. Would be great for someone who needs traction
This shoe has a wide toe box and the sole is very stiff. It does not have the rocker type sole that a running shoe has, it is very sturdy and well built but felt to stiff.
I really liked this shoe and wanted to be able to keep it but my foot runs a little narrow and I was not able to cinch the quick tie tight in the lower part of the lace area without making it much to tight at the top where it secures. This shoes would work for those with wider feet. Other than that it was very comfortable. I gave it 5 stars because it suits all the categories it just didn't fit my foot.

I dislike these boots because they are uncomfortable and they started to leak water in wet grass after 40 miles. The grip is good even on wet aggregate and the release of grass clippings is acceptable. 1. These boots have an unusually low cut at the heel. The space is filled in with a pillowy tongue that is sewn in at about the Achilles tendon level. From there, the pillowy tongue extends up to the normal ankle boot height. This worked great for my right boot, but on the left boot the seam where the tongue was sewn into the boot, was not smooth, and the resulting ridge created a blister and on my left Achilles tendon area. I compensated with a piece of foam designed to elevate such shoe problems. 2. There is a seam running lengthwise from near the top of the tongue, down the inside top center of the boot, to the toe. This seam is not smooth, and it irritated the middle toe on my right foot. I compensated with a small bit of tape on the top of my toe, each day, to keep it from blistering. 3. There is no provision for storing the one foot of lace loop that becomes free once the laces are pulled tight and secured. After trying some alternatives, I followed the recommendation of one of the reviewers here, and started tucking the plastic pull tab on the laces, into the upside down pocket at the outside top of the tongue. This is difficult, because the opening of that pocket is being held closed by the pressure of the tight laces at the pocket opening. This did seem to work well, though, until one day the left lace apparently came loose tangling my right foot and causing me to fall. Besides scuffing up my knee and palms, it broke the laces at the junction and I lost the plastic pull tab. I compensated for the missing pull tab, by using a paper clip to hook the excess lace loop to the back pull tab, on that boot. 4. After 4 weeks of 2 miles per weekday of walking in dewy grass, the left boot started to leak badly, leaving my left sock sopping wet. 5. There is not much width for toes, even though I used 1/2 size larger boot. 6. My heels were too loose and I could feel my heels sliding around while walking After trying leaky Adidas with Gore-Tex, Montrail with OutDry, and Salomon with Gore-Tex, and taxing Zappos fantastic customer support, I will go back to Adidas Outdoor, for comfort, and just give up expecting waterproof boots to be waterproof.
Incredibly comfortable. Went out on the trail for 7 miles right out of the box. No pain, perfect. Great shoe. I am a Salomon loyalist.
I wore my Exit Aeros into the ground, but had to put arch supports in. Thought the Exit 2 would improve on arch support and lace security. It appears to, during a try-on, but look at the tread. The original Exit Aero for women had a horizontal tread, and this version has a swoop. Doesn't look like something I would want to wear on a desert slope.
Great and functional winter boot. If you have any extra baggage in your calf area, these boots are not for you. I have stick legs and can barely zip them up.

These shoes are exactly what I have been looking for as an "up north runner". They are warm, comfortable, attractive and true to size. Grips are great when I need to get up on an icy, snow-covered shoulder. Wish I bought them years ago!
I am typically not a fan of boots. So much so that I have not been able to find any that I have liked enough to buy in years. These boots are not the most fashionable, but they make up for it in comfort and warmth. They are great for everything from shoveling snow to snowshoeing in subzero weather. My feet have yet to get cold, even after hours outside. I wore them hiking in New Hampshire the first weekend I had them and they were amazing & they did not even need to be broken in. They are highly recommended!

Excellent shoe as always with this model and used Salomon XA2 now with this internal reinforcement should also go to the outer side of shoe which is where the shoe always breaks. This is the tenth pair of this model and always after the 6 months of use is broken on the outside but on the whole an excellent shoe and hard to get this model.

I had been to the foot doctor and a better sport shoe was recommended for my walking. I ordered this shoe and have been wearing it practically non-stop since I received them in December. In fact, I just ordered another pair in a different color because it fits and feels so good.

This is the third pair I buy. They last for 2 years and get used heavily. Once had problems with laces but soles were worn out by that time. I use them on trails to walk my dogs and they provide great support.

These are by far the best trail shoes that I have ever owned. If you want water proof, comfortable, good looking shoes. Just get a pair of these and you will never buy any thing else.

These are by far my favorite shoes. I spend over 10 hours a day on my feet at my job and do an immense amount of walking. My feet are not sore at the end of the day and they are so light that I do not even realize I have them on. They are quick on and off with no laces to tie is a great bonus. Buy these shoes, you will not regret it.
Awesome shoe! I wanted something for the winter other than a boot and preferred that it be waterproof. These fit the bill perfectly. Very comfortable and great arch support. I'd never bought a Salomon shoe before, but I would again based on these.

Great shoe! I live in Utah - we get tons of snow & I specifically ordered these for snowshoeing & other winter hiking in the snow. They are amazing - comfy yet sturdy, my feet stay dry & warm even for hours in the cold weather & snow.
This my third pair of the same shoes. Over fields, down hiking paths, up small mountains, through rainy Seattle streets, and Florida's wet summers, these are my perfect, out of the box fitting, choice. I just received the latest edition and they fit like custom made, right out of the box.

Absolutely love these shoes! This is my second pair of Salomon XA series shoes. First ones were XA Comp 3 and lasted 3.5 years. They're my go-to all weather shoe. Compared to the Comp 3, these are a bit more stable, stiffer frame. Lacing issues fixed (that's all that died on the Comp 3) with better eyelets. Toe cap is sturdy. The tail of the sole off the heel is a little irritating. Not really sure how it helps anything, but can catch on stairs or such if you're not paying attention. Doesn't affect running. Took these on a week excursion through Utah (Moab, Zion, etc) right after buying and had excellent comfort. No break-in required. I have a moderately high arch and wider foot, and fit in these fine. They squeeze in width a little for a wide foot but stretch enough for comfort. Use Green Superfeet in all my other shoes but can't wear them in these Kills my foot to have them in. Arch support in these is fine on its own.
