Overall:

I have been searching for flat, black boots that would keep my feet warm in dry in the wet climate of Western Washington. These are great! They are like wearing my bedroom slippers. Very cozy and warm. Very comfortable. Fit snugly on my calves, but I can still zip them over jeans. Thanks for your patience Zappos. Great customer service.

This is a very expensive shoe that I bought to use on a 100 mile run. I started out to just break the shoe in with a few short runs of 5-8 miles. I did a 7 mile run in a looping course that had a steep downhill. The way the large toe is cut out. I ended up damaging my toe and toenail. These aren't made for steep down hills due to the fact that the laces won't get tight and the toe is cut square instead of extra room for the toe. After wearing Newtons these seem very heavy. Also the shoes feel very secure in the heel cup and seem to have plenty of cushion and resistance to rocks.

These boots are adorable! First out of the box I thought they might be too "duck-foot" to wear around, but on my feet they are actually really flattering, like soft galoshes with a sleeker, more fitted profile. The fit is roomy and amazingly comfortable without looking baggy, with a really flexible/soft shaft that doesn't bother my ankles/calves even after a long time. Lots of compliments on the quilting stitch, super-grippy soles, and warm feet in the (very snowy!) Colorado winter. So far in some pretty slushy conditions they've kept my feet dry, and they're versatile; definitely comfortable enough to use as working snow boots, after-ski boots, or even to hike or snowshoe in a pinch. And cute just with jeans or tights running around town. Love them.

These things fit like a glove and seem really comfy, with enough cushion to walk around all day. I have average calves (I'm a runner) and they are a snug fit; would be great with tights, but maybe too stuffed with jeans? As someone else already said, they're a little bit of a pain to zip over the ankles. I don't know, for me they are a little too "skinny" looking, kind of like a knee-high wrestling shoe. I thought they looked cool online, the quality is great (Salomon makes good stuff!) and the pattern is really neat (looks sort of like little gray-outlined roses), but in person they're just not quite my style.

Great service from Zappos! I received these shoes through the APO. They arrived safely and in good time. I am a big fan of the Salomons having been a former dedicated Asics wearer. These shoes are hard wearing and provide good support both on and off road. You don't feel rocks digging into your feet on the trails like normal running shoes. I normally wear a size 10 but find that 10½ in these is a perfect fit, my feet are a bit wider than average. They look great as well and I love the speed lace system.

This shoe is probably fine for running on the street, but the sole is too thin for a trail with rocks. The speed lace loop concerns me. You would need to tuck it in otherwise it will get caught on a stick. It seems like a trip hazard. I don\'t see how one fixes a broken speed lace either. \r\n\r\nSeems like a nice shoe, but I would not want to take it on the trail.

My husband had Salomon\'s like this, but an older style that were discontinued. He needs a black shoe or boot for work. He walks a lot and in the cold, wet weather during the winter. He really likes these as they are comfortable, light weight and keep his feet warm and dry.

Awesome shoes, best shoes I\'ve ever had (and I\'m 44). I love these shoes. I got the red ones. Very comfortable, and very quick to lace (quick lace system). Believe, your feet are worth, why not treat them to this premium trail shoe. I can\'t think of how you could get a better shoe than this one in terms of comfort, quality build, and quick lace.

I bought these shoes for a trip to the Galapagos Islands and they worked out perfectly. They were great for the wet landings on the islands: climbing out of the Zodiac boats and wading through shallow water onto the islands. Then, they provided the traction I needed for hiking across the lava rocks. And the open mesh provided lots of air to my feet in the warm climate. The manufacturer recommends wearing socks with these shoes. I found that very thin cotton socks do help keep your feet in good shape in the shoes on the hikes, but I usually put them on after getting onto dry land. And these shoes are very easy to slip on and off.

Perfection. As soon as I putted my feet in one of these I knew they were perfect. Once attached they are a bit stiff because they are new, but very comfortable. They feel a bit like a smaller compact version of a quality snowboard boot. Finally, it does not get lighter than these.

Bad fit, super light, looks like good quality, but was very narrow at the toes, and very open at the calf (which cause the heel to lift when walking). So if you have a giant calf (or planning on wearing your pants in your boots), this one if for you, but buy 1/2 size bigger. (Have a look at the Salomon Snowtrip TS WP; these were perfect.)

Probably the most comfortable shoe I\'ve ever owned. They provide excellent arch support and are made for narrow feet like mine. Quick lacing and being waterproof help make this my favorite shoe.

Any Salomon shoes fit me great. They are supportive and I can do anything in them including jog (when I really want to mix up my work out). I also really like the way they look.

Salomon's Deemax Dry - These are the most comfortable boots I've ever had. They have the quick pull laces and easy velcro closure. They're very warm and have great arch support.

Cute boot, fits well through the calf, but rather narrow in foot, and difficult to zip over ankles... and I don\'t have kankles. It would be difficult to wear these boots with a warm sock (not even a sport sock) so I\'m not sure if I\'m going to keep them.

Great looking and comfortable - Like its name, this is a premium canvas shoe that looks really good and is very comfortable. There is very little break-in required. I do a lot of urban walking and this shoe gives me all the support I need. Highly recommended.

Great shoe! Fits true to size. It's well-made, but not heavy feeling. At the end of the day my feet are feel fine even though I've been doing lots of walking and standing. I've worn these in heavy rains and my feet stayed dry.

Great shoe. I have other Salomon's. I made the mistake of ordering a half size too big; unlike other running shoes, these are true to your normal shoe size. Don't size up.

Got these in the pretty blue color. Super look with jeans. Shoes fit great on my wide feet. Went down half a size from what I normally wear. Cool system instead of shoestrings. Awesome shoes. Highly recommend.

These shoes are incredibly comfortable and easy to lace up, really good arch support. But after a few months the outer lining starting breaking down in some places and it was no longer water resistant. If you don't mind buying a new pair every 8-12 months, they are great.

I got the Thyme/Marjoram/Aqua Tint version. Very attractive, stylish and comfortable snow boot. I have a small foot with a high instep. It is very difficult to get my foot into most boots, but these boots have a generous opening. They lace up snugly and are not overly clunky. I have not yet had a chance to wear them in the snow, but now I\'m ready for the Winter Olympics at Whistler.

The service was outstanding! I ordered one morning and got the shoes the next day before noon. The shoes are excellent; they run narrow, which is just what I needed. The are comfortable from the get-go, no break-in required. Price was excellent.

Have been to 4 sports stores & had 11 pairs of shoes shipped from Zappos in the last 2 weeks, looking for a perfect fit in a water-proof light hiking/trail shoe. These are the winners! Love at first slip-on! First, they're cute! The heels are amply cushioned & arches are well-supported. The part I've had the most trouble with in other shoes, the space in the front of the foot, works. There's plenty of room, but it doesn't hang; they're comfortable & if my foot swelled during a long day, they could still fit & be comfortable. There's the perfect amount of room in front of the toe. The lacing-pull system (like the liner of a snowboard boot) is quick & easy to use. I read the other reviews & ordered a half-size smaller and they are perfect. Yay for Salomons! I now have my brand for this sort of activity for future purchases!
