Salomon Reviews
Sweet! Snug in the arches and roomy in the toebox! I walk 5 miles a day on concrete and my square flat feet are very pleased. Could definitely run with them on the street. I'd get one of their other products with deeper lugs for gravel/trail running. All in all a very comfortable shoe and eye catching in the Union Blue.
I LOVE these shoes. They are extremely lightweight yet have enough "cush" to walk on pavement as well as great traction for hiking trails. Best of all they run narrow so they are one of the very few shoes that actually fit my skinny feet. I liked them so much that I bought the men's version for my husband who loves them as much as I do!
Ordered the Salomon XR Shift for my everyday walking because I found myself wearing my Salomon XR Mission W all the time - and wanted to save them for my trail runs. Liked the supportive feel, in a lighter weight and softer color for summer, and having "real" shoelaces. I ordered same size I wear in XR Mission W, but they felt 1/2 size smaller. Returning and reordering next size up. Hope they fit because I liked them otherwise.
LOVE these shoes! They are lightweight, have enough grip a huge improvement from my old Merrills. Would highly recommend.
These are the best shoes that I have ever owned. I am a nurse and stay on my feet all day. Since having these I have ditched my Danskos which no longer feel comfortable. These are light but sturdy with a roomy toe box and good arch support. I ordered a second pair because I kept wearing them outside the hospital. Not a day goes by when I do not get a compliment because the colors are awesome. It is a way to personalize your uniform.
These are excellent shoes. They are great for rough, wet trails. They are easy on and off keeping mud out of room. I bought them for travel to Madagascar and Thailand.
Salomon makes a hell of a shoe. Excellent materials, excellent built quality. These shoes will outlast most any other running shoe. I usually go through a pair of running shoes every 2 months, and the only other running shoe I've had last longer was a pair of Vibram Fivefingers. Also of note- love the Boa lacing system.
These shoes are my first low Salmon shoes with the quicklace system. unlike my Salomon XA Pro 3D Mid 2 GTX (size 7), these do not stay laced tight as well. The left shoe fits perfectly, the right shoe feels tight around the toebox. I already sized up to 7.5 on these. They are fine around the house, but I would not go hiking in these; which is what disappoints me with these shoes. I wish I could love these Synapse CS as much as my Salomon XA Pro 3D Mid 2 GTX...but I can't. Wish both shoes would fit right.
I strained a Achilles tendon and bought these because they had great arch support. I shoot in uspsa and have great results with the Salomon shoes
Just bought my third pair of SpeedCross, 7th pair of Salomon overall. These are the best I've had by far. I run about 20-30 miles a week half on trail and half on road and these handle all of it perfectly. These are much more stable than the first Speedcross model. I also use these as my hiking shoes for everything from muddy riverbeds to 10,000ft+ summit day hikes when the snow is gone. I have a 10 mile after work trail run scheduled tomorrow and I know these will be a perfect fit right out of the box like always. Solomon is the only brand for trail shoes as far as I'm concerned.
Very well fitting shoes! Very comfortable. Incredible for running on all types of terrain. Not so good on wet floors of wood or tile. But all in all, great buy!
I absolutely love these shoes! This is my second pair, and if it were practical, I'd have them in every color. I wear them to work-out (semi cross fit style), and they're perfect. I have wide, flat feet and they feel very supportive without making my feet ache. Love 'em.

I love these shoes for their quality & performance. They are sturdy/supportive while they are lightweight & comfortable. They were recommended to me by a woman that had hiked 500 miles over the course of a year. She said that they never gave her a problem or any blisters. She also was a trail runner. I enjoy wearing them on long walks. They are cool due to to the mesh fabric on the topside. If the shoes get wet, they dry out faster with this fabric. One of my favorite features is the quick lace design for easy entry & exit from shoes. Cannot say enough good things about these shoes. They do run about one half size large.
I bought these for the colors. What I got was color and awesome running shoes. Very comfortable. Stable. Good cushioning. Fun "lace-up."
Wore these right out of the box. So comfortable & super light. My second time wearing them i did a 5K. No problems. Really like the fact that you do not have to tie & untie.
Love the shoes. However they do run big. I had to return them for a half size smaller. Return process was hassle free!
Great looking shoe. Got it as a gift for my girlfriend and she loves them. Got the wide version as she has wide feet even in the heel. She said fit great, trying them out this weekend!
Love these shoes! They are light and comfortable. I usually wear a lot of black but I really love these fun colors. I have worn Salomon's in the past-the Gortex waterproof in the winter and loved them. These are every bit as good for the summer!

After breaking my foot and tearing the inferior tib-fib ligament last year, I now need a mid-ankle hiking boot for even the most moderate up and downs. I ordered a dozen plus pairs from different manufacturers in various styles. These Salomon X Ultras are the *only* pair I felt were comfortable and even with one draw back, I kept them. I wear a size 8.5 in sandals/running shoes and usually a 9 in hiking boots to accommodate a more padded hiking/wicking sock. I have high arches and a pretty high instep. The 9s were comically huge. I felt as if I were wearing clown shoes. The 8.5s were also unquestionably too large. The 8s are still a little long. You know when you flex your foot and boot creates against the toe in the wrong place? That kind of too long. But after not being able to get my foot into the 7.5s at all, I decided they were as close as I was going to get and kept them. These are substantial and well constructed. I think they would be suitable for hiking with a 25+ lb pack. They feel supportive in the ankle and the arch, which is what I was looking for. They are not as heavy as my big leather Asolo boots, but not as light as I was looking for. I didn't need the Gore-tex and it remains to be seen if that attribute makes them feel hot in summer hiking. I wish they fit just a bit better in length, but after trying on at least a dozen really uncomfortable or painful mid height hikers, these were above and away the most comfortable!
Great fitting shoe and very comfortable! This shoe looks heavy, but is actually much lighter than other hiking shoes. I love that the laces tuck into a hidden pocket on the tongue. This is my second pair, I love them.
