If you run trails or in the winter, get this shoe now! It is light, fits like a glove and the traction is off the charts. My first run in these shoes was 2 miles with 2,000 vertical feet. I have slipped in other shoes especially of the way down. The Speedcross claws the trail and there is no hint that a slip is in the works. Confidence ascending and descending is sky high. Get a pair now.

Excellent shoe. Very comfortable. Doesn't get too hot. Get numerous compliments on style and color. Runs 1/2 to full size big.

The best shoes ever! Salomon needs to make them in colors so that I can substitute my business casual shoes for these. I have a closet full of Nike's, Adidas, and New Balance. I am giving them away, one by one. After wearing Salomon Speedcross series, nothing else will do and they all seem down right uncomfortable and poor quality. You can wash the Salomons till you are totally exhausted and you cannot damage them. Getting them totally socked will not cause the shoe glue to come apart. I even wear them into the shower when I need to really scrub and make them look new again. They last and last. I am giving this review not only because I truly believe in the aforementioned, but mainly to counter the anonymous person's not so positive, and a complete figment of imagination, review.

I love these shoes. One big problem the material used on the bottom of the soles of these shoes wore down extremely fast. I have not had these shoes a yr. I already need a new pair due to this issue. The cost...the soles need to last a bit longer then 9mon. I have had previous tennis shoes I have purchased that NEVER wore down like these did. These are the BEST LOOKING shoes on the market. Every one always asks me about them. I at first recommended them. I don't now due to this issue. I purchased mine from Title Nine, they sold a bright orange pair with yellowish green bottoms. I paid a lot for them.

This shoe is very comfortable but seemed to be about a 1/2 size larger than marked. I have a thin heel and Soloman shoes are one of the few brands I can wear without my heel slipping up and down in the shoe. The color of the upper is shown as a brownish-gray but I found it to look more gray than brown. Other than that, I'm very happy with these shoes.

Great shoe, fit right out of the box. Have made two major hikes in them this past week and they are awesome, especially on the down hill. After years of Salomon Wings these are my new favorites. Feel very safe in them on steep terrain and being of a certain age that is very important to me.

Exceptional fit, 'grippy' when needed during recent hikes in the Flat Irons near Boulder, CO and hey, it's an attractive shoe to boot! Yes, that's an intentional bad pun.

I have been a looong time fan of the old Salomon XR Mission W, which is unfortunately discontinued and replaced by the X Mission 3. This shoe is much narrower in the toe box, which is unfortunate for people like me with wider feet. I am a C in width yet this shoe is too tight, even with thin socks, and causes pinched nerves, which are painful. Plus the sizing is different. If you were a 7.5 in the XR Mission W you will be an 8 with the X Mission 3. I tried a larger size and slightly fatter sock to pick up more room in the toe area only to have the arch support just slightly off. Only recommended for narrow feet. PLEASE, Salomon, bring back shoes with the wider toe box.

Love these shoes! This is the third pair of this brand and this model I have purchased. They give me plenty of room in the toe box. I have had surgery on my left foot and the ample room allows for comfort and support. I would definitely recommend these shoes.

Picked these up for hiking and goruck (military style) challenges. I was looking for something that would be supportive under weight (carrying heavy loads and packs) but would also drain out and dry quickly to avoid destroying my feet with blisters. So far I've only hiked in them and they performed incredibly well on very rocky terrain and steep climbs in the White Mountains. The sole is strong and didn't give away on sharp rocks and uneven ground. Felt like a hiking boot sole. The upper is breathable and very comfortable. Would not recommend using on a wet and muddy trail as they let the water right in (by design and why I bought them, but if you want water resistance look elsewhere) but my socks dried out fairly quickly after getting wet (good breathability). This is my first foray into Salomon's but I am very happy with them. Light, supportive, comfy, and look good on my feet.

I purchased this awesome looking hiking boot for a summer hiking trip we are going to take but the boot is very heavy. I need a lighter weight boot for hiking long distances. I am prone to shin splints and have to be careful about the type of shoes I wear.

Super comfortable and I get lots of compliments on the colors! This is my second pair of Salomon x-mission 3 and they hold up very well. I really like the pull-ties...they stay put and I can find the exact amount of tightness.

I love the way these shoes look and they are comfy. I ordered a 9 WIDE and it does NOT FEEL WIDE. It is the same width as the Salomon Mission regular width. Please make wider toe boxes in the future. For people with wide feet, if we don't have enough room it causes pain and pinched nerves.

I use these exclusively for Trail running and they are the most comfortable off road shoe I have ever owned. I will use them in an upcoming Spartan Race. I will be purchasing another pair after the race.

I have been wearing a pair of these shoes for 15 years now. I replace them yearly, and have never had a shoe that performs better or more consistently than the XA Pro. It's a great cross trainer and trail runner, fantastic support and incredible comfort. I am on my feet 14-16 hours a day, and these are a big reason why I am able to do that. I have worn them in 18 countries and every geographic region, from desert to jungle and they handle everything I can throw at them.

I bought these and the XA Pro 3D, which I returned. These were wider and more comfortable on my foot. The arch seems lower. The shoe is wider than the other one. This shoe does not feel as stiff. I am a wide size seven, with short toes.

I like Salomon Hiking Shoes but can never tell what will fit. I bought these and another pair. These were too tight in the arch and on the sides of the foot. Best for a low arch narrow foot maybe. They were also quite stiff. I have a wide size 7 foot with short toes and I have returned these.

The treads wore out way too fast for me. They need to be more durable. The soles were smooth after about a month and a half of every day hill and trail running. If somehow they could reinforce the treads with steel, that would be a great solution.

Fantastic shoe - I literally have never done a review in my hundreds of purchases from Zappos but this shoe was so far beyond my expectations that I couldn't not share how amazed I was.

These are well made shoes. They have a very high, firm arch. If that is what you need these will be great. Personally, I need something more flexible and softer.

I wish I could give these a higher rating, but I just can't because of the way they fit. The toe box is extremely narrow, even for me and I have narrow, long toes and a narrow foot. They caused my toes to bunch up and ache, despite being adequately long enough and being the correct size. I am surprised that others haven't had an issue, because like I said, my foot is narrow so they should've been okay for me. Simply put, they are just too tight in the toe box.
