I bought this shoe because I was wearing the Ryka Studio D, and it didn't have enough cushioning for a jumpier Zumba class. The Synergy is perfect because it has that extra cushioning, but the sole is smooth enough for turning. I need a little more arch support, so use an insert. This is actually my second pair, because the tongue detached from one of the shoes within a few weeks. Zappos instantly exchanged them for me.

Not impressed...I started having shin splints that wouldn't go away last week. I figured I must need new shoes (my Adidas Kanadia shoes were only 6 months old). I only go to classes (Zumba, Turbo Kick, Pilates, Tabata, Yoga, Spinning) so I wasn't sure how to gauge when to purchase a new pair since most recommendations are based on running miles. I gave these a try thinking they would provide the support needed for the extensive jumping in many of my classes (average 4-6 classes/week) but unfortunately they did not work with my flat feet. The support cushioning on the outer edge of the bottom/side of my foot was very sore after 1 hour. Plus, these are much cuter in the picture - they sort of look like black orthopedic shoes when they were on my feet.

Fabulous. I am a zumba instructor dealing with knee problems. I also have wide feet made worse due to bunions. These shoes allow me to pivot with ease and are supportive and comfortable. Ordering another pair. Love Rykas - they are the best.

I like these shoes a lot for Zumba. I use my own insoles, so I am not sure how they are without them. I used to use the studio flex low shoes by Ryka, but wanted something more durable as I loved the shoes, but found that they wore out too quickly. These are so solid. I find that my foot does not slide around laterally in these shoes, and I did not have any problems keeping my movements in control. The only problem I had, is that they have less cushioning built into them than the other shoes that I used did. I come down rather heavily on my feet, and it took a little getting used to. Overall I highly recommend these, as I needed a strong support shoe and found this to be it!

I love this sneaker! They are perfect for Zumba class. Having an orthotic, I always have to remove the insole. These shoes are still light weight, even with my orthotic. And a definite reduction in that shoe squeak on the floor. The Velcro strap lets you adjust the fit, so your foot does not wobble around. I am a terrible over-pronator, and these shoes really help keep me grounded. You will no be disappointed. I love the hint of lime green color to break up the black. I only wish there was a pink version in the collection.

Thanks to all who gave these shoes a great review. I ordered them on Saturday, and they came on Monday, just before I was to leave for the gym. Great cushioning for the impact of step aerobics, I can't wait to try them for zumba! Thanks to Zappos for such efficiency!
