This time around the shoes seemed a bit wider than my old pair, but still comfortable, so I kept them.

Not enough stability - I am a moderate over-pronator. And while these shoes look great and fit great, the stability just isn't enough for me. I can feel myself rolling to the inside of this shoe. I returned these shoes for the Saucony Guide2 which over better stability and A LOT MORE cushioning. On another note: My feet are wide, but not enough for EE. These shoes did fit my width nicely. But, just not enough support.

I\'ve had these for about a year. Some of the best shoes I\'ve owned. I use these nearly daily for walking and running my dog, as well as hiking and casual use. A little heavy but a good payoff for being waterproof. I\'m planning on buying a new pair when these wear out but they are holding up well so far. I tend to buy a 1/2 size larger when buying Asics.

La Sportiva Wildcat GTX® Womens | La Sportiva Wildcat GTX® Womens 2009-11-20 11:07:05
Reviewer:Spychica
from Alexandria VA Overall Rating:
I was hesitant to purchase this shoe because my only other experience with La Sportivas were the Crossroads, which were a disappointment all around. Let's start with fit: I'm a 10 in running shoes and often 9.5 in boots because I like thin or no socks. The 42 was the precise fit for my foot structure - which is neutral, medium arched, and medium width, with the exception of a right foot bunion. The toe box is wide and deep and allows ascents to be pain free because of adequate space for toe movement. The support is excellent for keeping your foot aligned and upright over obstacles like roots, logs, or rocks. They breath amazingly well for a gortex shoe. The sole grabs in the mud, dirt, grass and leaves to feel like you're effortless through the rough stuff. IN fact, the traction is so profound, I felt much more sore in my hams, quads, and calves because the more stable the shoe, the more muscle can be recruited to perform through the obstacles of off road. Plenty of cushion for the little bit of road running I do. Absolutely waterproof but for the tongue absorbing water and getting the top of a quarter sick wet. TWO CONS: The tongue slips into the body of the shoe if the laces aren't tight enough. The sole is slippery over very wet rock surfaces or wet, moldy decking and boardwalks. I can't wait for the 2010 model - black would be nice - to order my next pair.

from Atlanta Overall Rating:
The Nike Run Avant+ is a minimalist type shoe in the Bowerman mold. Saying that, I was surprised by the cushioning and comfort of the sole. Very light, with little support, this shoe is either for the smaller runner who does some work on smooth trails, or the person who likes a comfortable athletic shoe to go with jeans during the weekend. I bought the black on black model, which has an understated style to go with its minimalist structure. I would get these again.

I love theses shoes. The 2140 rock! They are all I run in, and the black color are the only color that fit right! Zappos makes it so easy to get the right brand, size, and color. I won't shop anywhere else for might distance shoes.

from Atlanta Overall Rating:
This is a very expensive shoe that I bought to use on a 100 mile run. I started out to just break the shoe in with a few short runs of 5-8 miles. I did a 7 mile run in a looping course that had a steep downhill. The way the large toe is cut out. I ended up damaging my toe and toenail. These aren't made for steep down hills due to the fact that the laces won't get tight and the toe is cut square instead of extra room for the toe. After wearing Newtons these seem very heavy. Also the shoes feel very secure in the heel cup and seem to have plenty of cushion and resistance to rocks.

I loved Asics in general, bought this shoe from Zappos, however I guess the shoe I got has defective sole, both the shoes right more than left had a inward angle at the heel, you could almost feel as if you had something under the heel lifting the heel up from one side, it completely messed up my knees in 2 days, thankfully Zappos excepts returns. Hope Asics had caught this before.

The best fitting shoe that I have ever had. Narrow enough in heel, wide enough and high enough toe box in the front, great arch and structural support in the middle. I haven't tested the traction off road yet, but the tread looks and feels like it can handle the wooded trails. I am more of a quick walker than a runner. I jog in sprints between.

I ordered Nike Free Everyday's a month ago and I love them. They are my favorite running shoes ever. They are so light and flexible. This was my first time purchasing shoes from Zappos, but they were so helpful. I ordered the wrong size at first, and they shipped the correct size next day air, and I hadn't even sent wrong size back yet. I will definitely purchase shoes from Zappos again.

I love this shoe. I have worn the Brooks Adrenaline GTS series for years. This is my second pair of the brook GTS 9. I normally wear a 2A, but the GTS 9 series runs even narrower, so I have been wearing a medium width (and I have really skinny feet). This is a great shoe for someone who runs and needs motion control. As far as color goes I ordered the pink/orange one. It was a bit more orange than I had hoped, but otherwise a great shoe!

This sneaker is so comfortable, I needed one that offered lots of cushion because I'm standing on concrete floors all day at work, and this is the one! These shoes are really uncomfortable. I've tried wearing them several times but each time I end up with bloody heels. I emailed Montrial 3 times with questions about the shoe, but they never once bothered to respond to my emails. Montrial customer service is terrible and these shoes are just as bad. I guess they go hand in hand.

Great look - but they make noise! These shoes look awesome, I got the yellow bumblebee pair. but, they squeak and make a very loud noise every time I use them, so I have to return them. Maybe I just got a reject pair. Other than the gassy squeak noise, they are nice shoes.

 Inov-8 Roclite 295 | Inov-8 Roclite 295 2009-11-19 09:04:45
Reviewer:Pete
from Portland, Maine Overall Rating:
I love these shoes. These are my first trail runners, and they're everything I hoped they would be. I am a tall (6'1"), light (155 lbs.), neutral-gait runner with fairly high arches. I run in the Mizuno Wave Rider (a light neutral-cushioned shoe) on roads and easy trails, and I wanted something else that could handle everything from muddy single-track to rooty, rocky northern New England mountain trails. The Roclite 295 is typical of what I've read and heard about the Inov-8 brand in general: fairly minimal support, super-light, and a nice grippy outsole. If you're looking for a shoe with pronation control or a ton of support, the Roclite 295 is probably not the shoe for you. But if you're looking for a minimal, light, super-flexible, grippy trail runner, the 295 is great. A couple of additional notes: (1) the upper does a great job of holding the foot in place on rough trails; and (2) the shoe dumps water like crazy. It's not a waterproof shoe, but it doesn't soak up water the way most running shoes do.

I got these runners for my new workout shoes after buying Pumas for years. They have a great support in the heel, which is where I need more support. They are very breathable which helps with them not smelling after working out, but not when walking in the rain! They are great shoes and will probably buy another pair when the time comes to get new workout shoes!

Style meets function, that's what these Pumas are all about. I was looking for a shoe that I could wear to the bar (something that didn't look like I came from the gym, but not too hipster either), but that is also comfortable in case I need to stumble home.

from California Overall Rating:
This is a great shoe for someone looking for a light, fast shoe with a little stability. It fits like the Elixir, but is less shoe. I race short races in the Musha, long races (1/2 marathons/marathons) in the Elixir and use the Inspire for my everyday easy shoe. All 3 work well together and have the same characteristics. Weightwise, the Musha is similar to the Ronin, but offers more support for people like me who can't run in a completely neutral shoe.

from Washington, DC Overall Rating:
The Ultra GTX is everything the Montrail Hardrock used to be. This is a fantastic shoe for a serious trail runner who likes to go fast on difficult, changing, uneven and rough terrain. That means lots of non-horizontal footing, stream crossings, rocks, boulders and knobby roots on single track hiking trails. The shoe has a very stiff sole and a lot of support on the upper. It's light. I imagine they might be too warm for summer running, but I haven't had them long enough to run in the warm season. Most trail running shoes are street shoes with some toe and heel protection. This thing is the Humvee of trail shoes.

 | | Dear Zappos.com,
I would like to start off by saying: Zappos.com is amazing. My first order with Zappos.com wasn't that long ago. On one of my orders, Zappos was so amazing to give me a special priority in upgrading my shipping date to the next day I placed my order. What other place does that? Not only did they do that, they always email you right away when you place an order. Other websites take so long, you worry if they even got the order. And, in Zappos website, it's so helpful. When looking at an item, it gives all the information you need. Your size, your color, and price range you are willing to spend. AND if the item is sold out, they email you once the item is back in stock. Come on! What other website does all of this! None! When I receive my shipment(s) at home, the packaging is so cute, neat. You guys are awesome. Consider me a customer, forever!!! =) | | ~ Mary F., October 11 2009
