Ruffwear makes a great product and this is leashes no exception. It is well made, designed and versatile. The adjustable length, ease of use of clip, extremely sturdy construction, the dual purpose handle are all genius! The leashes I bought are for my two beagles. It is a bit of overkill because the leashes are quite heavy duty and better suited for larger breeds. But they don't offer a less robust size.

What a great, well made harness. The sizing is accurate and doesn't rub in any areas on my dogs skin. I love Ruffwear products and highly recommend this harness for things like every day strolls to more challenging hikes.

Awesome leash! Best leash I have ever purchased for my 3 year old boxer. The obsidian black looks fantastic. I love the locking carabiner, the reflective threading, and the comfy handle with loop for poop bag holder etc. Very well made, sturdy and sharp looking leash. Excellent quality and well worth the price.

I'm an extremely careful consumer. I do my research and test several products before making my final selection. The Ruffwear harness is awesome. I have a Chocolate Lab and Queensland Heeler mixed breed dog. She has a slim physique and very thin fur. None of the standard harnesses were an option for our dog. Because she's a strong puller, the Gentle Lead harness was dangerous for her. Despite the control it gave us when walking her and how easily she followed instead of pulling, it doesn't stop sudden instinctive lunges when she sees a bird or small animal. Some people have reported neck injuries and vet bills because of this harness. When our dog suddenly lunged after a squirrel, her neck badly torqued. It was awful to see. So we returned this harness and reluctantly bought the Easy Walk harness. I say reluctantly because the Easy Walk harness is clunky with absolutely no padding, and it's rather heavy. It didn't immediately get her to stop pulling, but the straps cut into her skin, and although we watched videos on how to custom fit this harness, it seemed incredibly uncomfortable. We forgot to remove the Easy Walk harness, and sadly she chewed threw a strap before we could return it to the store. Then I found a review for the Ruffwear Front Range harness. I loved the color options, the soft but durable padding, and the front pull-ring and top leashing option, and the efficient use of materials. This is not a bulky, cumbersome harness. I ordered an extra small and small, and ended up going with the small. She measured as having a 22" chest at the widest point, which is in between the two sizes. The extra small wouldn't even snap closed, so my guess is that if you're dealing with a similar size issue, choose both options or order one size up. Fitting the harness was a bit tricky, but you'll find this with pretty much all of the dog harnesses. The idea, though, is that once it's adjusted properly and you've done a test walk, you shouldn't need to adjust the harness again. The head cutout is a snug fit, so depending on your dog's head size you may have to fiddle a bit figuring out how to easily slide it on and off. But once it's on, it seems very comfortable, and the belly straps are easy to snap into place. The harness comes with the straps tightened up as small as they will go. Loosen them all the way and put the harness on your dog. Adjust the neck straps first. These are easier to work with. The belly straps take some finagling to adjust, but I slowly adjusted them and figured it out, and now we have a happy dog. To make her comfortable, I made sure I can easily slide several fingers under and around all straps. The one place where the harness is very snug is on her back. I wasn't sure if this was applying to much pressure, but once I readjusted the belly straps a bit, the entire harness fit better and she so showed no signs of discomfort when I let her run around the house. Since pulling is a problem with our energetic dog (and we have struggled with the training side of addressing this), I attached the leash to the front chest loop and we went for a walk. She was calm and relaxed and responded to my commands. The harness made her incredibly easy to control. And unlike the Easy Walk harness, her movements were not restricted and nothing rubbed against her skin. During the walk I moved the leash to the metal ring on the top of the harness and was surprised when she continued to walk as if it were still attached to the front. The placement of the ring is at the back instead of closer to the neck. This must nullify some of her pulling instinct. The ring's position gives me a feeling of control. My preference is the chest loop, of course, but I like having the option of being able to use either attachment. Something else I like is the reflective piping, and the dark charcoal color looks great. We're going to write her name and our phone number in the ID area inside the harness, although I doubt anyone would remove the harness should something happen and she's found. It's a great backup just to be safe, though. Compared to the other harnesses we've tried, I don't think she's going to be able to easily chew on this one while it's on. But since we only intend to have her wear it for walks, hopefully we'll remember to take the harness off when it's not being used. So how's that for an unsolicited review? The belly snap closures are tucked up close against the harness material and can be slightly cumbersome to open (closing is easy), but they seem much more secure that way than the other harnesses, and after trying it a few times I'm now used to it and don't have any concerns. I hope this review was helpful.

Terrific harness with very useful features. My 70 lb. pit bull wears it with the leash attached to the front, giving me better control of his desire to separate my bones. It's tough and can take a lot of abuse. Difficult to clean, but worth the dough.

I love these harness' they are well made, sturdy and secure. There's no way my little escape artist can get out, and it makes me feel they are safe and secure. I liked it so much for my escape artist I bought one for my other two dogs.

Really good quality rain/snow resistant coat. I bought a size M and it's a perfect fit for my 1 year old golden retriever puppy who looks like an awkward long and skinny teenager. The length is perfect and the sides are adjustable. I also like how his furry chest is covered in this coat, making the clean-up easier after a walk in the rain and snow. You can look up the specific measurements on the Ruffwear website, and purchase on Zappos because you can't beat the free fast shipping/easy return.

Used without boots, these little socks are the perfect solution to deter paw licking. What I love most is they are latex-free, since my dog has allergies to latex products. They will work well when it snows and she wears her boots! I plan to buy the Ruffwear brand soon.

I have had a previous version of this leash for 5 years and prefer it to all other leashes. I love the advantages of clipping it around my waste rather than holding it in my hand and it conveniently clips securely around a tree or pole, which comes in handy. I also often use the loop near the collar end when I need to keep my dog close. I needed a second one so ordered this one and was very disappointed that the plastic buckle/clasp that my old one has to fasten the leash when looped around the waist was replaced with a metal hook that fits through a tight sleeve at the end of the leash. I could not get the hook to unfasten and found that the only way to get the leash on and off my waist was to thread it through the hook and step through it. Aside from being inconvenient, it is also dangerous to not be able to release the leash quickly from my waist when my dog is on the other end. Another problem with the new version of this leash is that the fabric is much thinner than the old leash, so I don't know if it would hold up for 5+ years as my old leash has. I am returning this leash. I found another brand of leash that is very similar to the old version of this leash for the same price: SportLeash Recreation Pro 3-in-1 Leash (hand held, waist-worn or short lead).

I looked for this type of harness for a long time. This type does not require you to pull your dog's leg through, instead, the harness goes over the dogs head then under the stomach and up over the back to latch on top. It's perfect for that finicky dog that does not like its legs pulled and pushed. Great for a large dog!

Perfect jacket! My dog is a large breed mix, but still needs a little warmth in the middle of winter here in Michigan. This jacket is super easy to put on & take off. It covers the majority of her chest & belly. She is a happy camper on long walks! For extra warmth when the temps drop below 10 degrees, I also purchased the zip-on fleece to go under it. Perfect combo for arctic days. Ruffwear is awesome!

Bought these boots for my 5 year old silky terrier because of the extreme cold. Got the 1.5 inch size the boot looks very well made. Its function is horrible, took 10 minutes to get them on and they didn't stay on his feet more than 20 seconds. I will be returning.

Purchased this item for an 85 lb. high energy German Shepherd mix. He can chew up almost anything in less than two minutes! He loves this treat ball, with or without treats. He loves to play fetch and this ball works with his tennis ball thrower. It bounces all over the place so it adds more excitement for each throw. Highly recommend!

This was just right to keep our little rescue terrier warm. Best features are: fleece around chest (not just a strap) for warmth and easy full-zip on closure. We also like to leave the top of the zip done up and slip it over her head for speedy dressing.

Terrific dog coat. It is apparent from a brief look at the coat that it is well made with quality material. The large size fits my 54lb (24" back measurement) a bit loose, but she balked at the medium size that fit her tight like a wet suit might. She is deep chested (German Shepard - Doberman mix) so if your dog also has a similar athletic build I'd by the next size up. Ordered on December 22 and, true to their word, Zappos had the jacket delivered on Christmas Eve day. Fast, great service and a nice product from Ruffwear.

Thank you Ruffwear for making an escape-proof harness for my squirmy little shiba inu! This harness does what it promises and so much more. I love the handle on top because I can gently lift up my shiba when she's being neurotic and redirect her. Yeah it looks pretty funny when I do lift her up like a lunch pail but I gotta say how nifty that handle is!

My dog chewed off the black cord and had more fun with that than the orange part, which has remained mostly intact. It's heavier than I thought, and bounces in a funny way when you throw it, but it seems to be holding up well!

I purchased this harness for my dog who is missing her front left leg. The webmaster (also from ruff wear) is the only harness that has worked for her, so I was excited when this new one came out! Unfortunately she was able to back out of it once, but after tightening it that shouldn't happen again. Also we cannot use the front clip because the harness shifts too much. This is a great harness, but maybe not ideal for a three-legged dog!

It took me 4 harnesses to find a keeper. I knew I should have started with this one. Brody loves to slide out of about any leash or harness. I can honestly say after a month, this passes the test. It looks to be incredibly well made. It won't keep your dog from pulling but I typically don't have that problem. I think because the leash connection is halfway down the back, he cannot use that as leverage to slither out. Thanks, Ruffwear! (And thanks Zappos for continuing to have competitive prices and quick shipping!)

Good coat for serious dogs Nice and stretchy so it fits my Catahoula really well. I measured her and the size according to the size chart was perfect. She sulked for the first 5 minutes wearing it and then forgot she had it on and now wears it happily. The zipper on and off is very easy. The fabric covers the end of the zipper so it doesn't rub. I'd like a button at the head end to hold the coat together while I line up the zipper. My dog cranes her neck around to "help" and it's harder to line up the zipper when she does that, but that's her not the jacket. I like the jacket fitting close around my dogs body. Some much bulkier jackets let a lot of air in and I don't think they can be as warm.
