Great utility shorts - I use them everywhere. I love all the pockets, I could get away with no handbag if I wanted to. The fabric is cool and comfortable. The color is neutral and goes with everything. I use it to go grocery shopping, walk around town, doing chores at home and of course for the great outdoors. Pair it with a nicer shirt and I've even dined in them. Great for travel. I appreciated the slightly higher waist; everything nowadays seems low cut.

Fabulous and flattering! These are terrific shorts. I bought a pair to wear to my gym in the morning. (I find that shorts with a gathered waist are quite unflattering on me.) These were amazing: I bought 4 more pairs! Although I am only using them to go to my *inside* gym, I can see how great they would be for hiking: nice deep pockets, some with zippers; some with velcro closures, etc. Plus, the length is great: not too long or too short. I’m so glad I found these! I usually wear size 4 in dress clothes -- but for these, I ordered a 6 and it was perfect! I could not be more pleased.

Wide fit with a large leg. It's almost looks like a skirt. Much longer than pictured and I am not a short person, 5'5" at size 4. I loved the style. There are great pockets and good quality. It might be better for other body types.

I loved these shorts - ordered them right before I left for Hawaii and as always, Zappos took care of me. Felt true to size. Ordered size 4 and I wear a 4 sometimes a small 6. Fit perfectly!

This is my second pair of these shorts in a different color. I use them as my walking shorts in South Carolina (hot and muggy). They are cool, roomy, have lots of pockets, and the material sheds dirt.

Some of the best shorts I\'ve ever owned. True to size. Flattering without overexposing your legs. Comfortable on long hikes and dry quickly when they get wet.

I was very happy with these shorts. They almost have a waterproof feeling material. My sister and I each got a pair and love them. The waist does not stretch, they run a bit small I thought compared to other shorts in the same size.

I don't like wearing shorts but have to in the humid hot south. I love that these fit my thighs and ample rear but don't have the gap in the waist as every pair of pants I try does! It also has buttons to bring the waist in on the waist in the back if you lose a bit of weight. Great shorts and so excited to wear these this summer. Flattering for smaller waists and bigger butts!

After looking at the picture of how these shorts fit, I was surprised at how high-waisted they are! They definitely hit above the bellybutton, which is not what I was looking for! PI pobably should have assumed this knowing they were from Royal Robbins, but the picture showed me otherwise. They seemed comfortable though.

Very nice, cool and comfortable for Grand Canyon hiking. Has belt loops, which is important to me--I'm not comfortable in shorts or jeans unless the waist feels secure. I'm returning the black but will keep the beige-colored ones.

Waist runs big. Even with the extra button for tightening there is an uncomfortable gap.
