Rockport Ellingwoods are elegantly nice. I got luau feet and so I'm grateful for the wide sizes that are available. When I was a kid in Hawaii I went to a Catholic school (don't ask me about them priests with them wandering eyes) and we had to wear dress shoes. Are you serious? Dress shoes on a keiki in Hawaii? And what made it worse was that our playground was asphalt that would heat up during recess. It was like being on a lava flow. Anyway, I've always hated shoes since, but these Rockports are comfy. They have a shock-absorbing rubber sole and a removable inner sole about a 1/4 inch thick at the heel. I've been breaking them in on my daily 24 mile bicycle commute to work. No problems so far. And as an added bonus passing wahines keep telling me that nothing makes them want to go to the powder room more than a sharp-dressed man. Are you talking about me? Auwe! Mahalo, Zappos.

These have been some of the most painful shoes to bereak in that I have ever tried. Earlier reviews noted a lengthy break in period and I should have taken heed.

I returned this shoe because it hurt my first toe joint (I have some arthritis there). The band across the front of the shoe hit that area and caused pain.

This is a good shoe. For some reason it looks more dressy in the photo, but is a good shoe for most office wear (short of a suit). It's Rockport comfortable, but for the first time, I've had a bit more break-in period, with the medial front of the right shoe binding on my big toe. Now that the bend has worn in (less than 2 weeks), it's just fine.

Very nice pair of shoes. Fit perfect, are very light and look great with a suit or a pair of jeans. Very comfortable as soon as you put them on.

These are great shoes. They fit well. You do not need to polish them! I was somewhat hesitant about buying shoes over the internet, but Zappos made it so easy. The shoes fit exactly as sized just like a glove. I am on my feet eight hours per day so it was important that I find something comfortable and long lasting. The last pair of Rockports lasted over three years with one resoling, and that was great!
I'd also recommend: Rockport, Dressport shoes
