Love these boots! Boots are truly comfortable. They do not have lining in the foot and it can feel a bit like sand paper but a thick pair of socks or a foot liner does the trick. These boots are so warm and great style too. I have looked for so long for a waterproof, comfortable, warm and stylish boot that goes to the knee or just below the knee and I finally found it! The boot looks expensive - the leather is soft and flexible. I really wanted the boots in black but in the picture the black leather looked wrinkly and westerny so I got the brown which I am very happy with. I am an 8.5 shoe and boot size and the 40 fit perfectly - even with thick socks. Jeans and pants can be tucked into the boot no problem. This is the perfect boot - well worth the money. I am so picky about dressing warm and having functional equipment because I am outside in the elements for long periods of time in all kinds of terrain and weather walking my 2 dogs. I needed serious boots. These boots will not disappoint.

These boots do not look like the picture because the leather is quite different. They actually look like the brown boot's leather only in black. Additionally, I have very narrow calves and thought they'd be tighter based on other reviews. This is not the case--they fit like most other boots.

Great boot. Comfy, warm and stylish. The picture of the black one is indeed misleading as the leather is smooth, not textured as shown.

Love the style and look of this boot, but a black 42 is unavailable and the 41 does not fit my 9.5M feet well. Even with thin socks, it's tight across my (high) arches and around my (skinny) ankles and I could barely close the zipper at the top of my 15" calves. Plenty of room in the toe box and the length is fine, though. For comparison: I have narrow heels and "low volume" feet (i.e., they are thin, or not tall). By the way, the fuzzy lining does cover the top of the foot as well as the leg; maybe Rieker responded to complaints. The boots are hot while I'm trying them on in my 78 degree house. I've never had lined boots like this before and am wondering whether the lining will prevent the boots from stretching as the leather normally would, and whether they will be too hot to wear indoors even in the winter. I'm thinking of keeping them with the idea that they will stretch a little. My Born boots that fit great initially have stretched so much that my feet move around too much in them even with thick socks. How's a gal supposed to know how the boot will fit after wearing it a few weeks? My crystal ball is not working.

Awesome boot. I have the brown ones too and when I saw Zappos had them in black, I snatched them up. They are super cozy and the leather is very soft. I've just recently worn them in 10 degree, snowy weather and my feet stayed warm. I've also worn them in rain and winter sun. They don't disappoint. They are more rugged than other boots but can be feminine when paired with a cute dress. They look fab over skinny jeans or leggings. I have athletic calves and these fit nicely as it does have some elastic at the top of the boot.

These boots are cute, warm and comfortable. They are casual and go well with skirts or jeans. The lambswool around the calves is fantastic for the cold mountain climate and I didn't have to sacrifice style for it. It also doesn't make my feet too hot. The only complaint I have is the arch support is not great but I am just going to get a pair of superfeet to throw into it. I would definitely recommend these.
