Best everyday shorts - Best I've found for all-around use (and I've done a lot of looking). Good waistband is the key to comfort; they stay in place without being too tight. I've been looking for some shorts to replace my cotton twill Eddie Bauer rugby shorts, which apparently aren't made anymore. After at least one wash, these are soft as flannel pajamas, but look like they will be very durable. They are well sewn and feel substantial without being heavy. Only time will tell if these will last over 10 years and 100s of washings, like the rugby shorts they replaced, but I'm optimistic.

Brands I'd also recommend: These shorts, a t-shirt, and Chaco sandals or Crocs -- less is more.

The Best! I have a lot of shorts but only one black pair. I have been working the AVP Beach Volleyball tour this summer and specifically needed black shorts. I decided to get a few new pairs. Of the three I got, these are the best! They hang and look great. Many times with a lot of pants or shorts there's always that issue of the top button being too tight, always scared it will pop off or be too tight after a meal. With these the elastic waistband makes them perfect. They are THE PERFECT casual short to wear at the beach or around town. I've bought several more.

I love the pair of Reyn Spooner Cruiser shorts that I purchased, they\'re very comfortable! I used to get my casual shorts at Big Dog, but they are in the process of downsizing. Sure glad I found Zappos.

These are the most comfortable shorts I've ever worn; very soft and spacious. I now have 3 pair (all ordered from Zappos). The last pair arrived the day after I ordered them; can't do much better than that. They do, however, run large. I usually wear a Medium short, but Small is plenty big for me in these shorts.

These are my favorite shorts. I love them. The only negative is that Reyns seems to always have an inventory problem. I can't ever find more. Especially the 'blacks' are hard to find!

I got my first pair of these in Maui 7-8 years ago. Since then I've worn out 3 pairs and have 4 (in different colors) in my drawer now. They are very loose fitting and most comfortable for me.

These are officially my new favorite shorts! I wear shorts most of the year (in Santa Cruz,CA) and I'm a pretty big guy (6'-225 lbs). These have tons of room, elastic waist, they are long enough and have ample pockets, perfect combo for me. I bought 4 pairs and will buy some more. Oh and it doesn't hurt that these are listed as Large when I usually wear and XL. I think there is still hope! If you want comfortable and roomy shorts, buy these without hesitation. I highly recommend these great shorts!

My husband loves these shorts! He's been having a black pair for about 5 years and wears them almost every day. Needless to say, they are becoming a little tattered. He looked online but couldn't find them. I finally found them here at Zappos! Imagine his surprise when he opens them Christmas morning! There will be 2 brand new pairs (black and tan)! He's going to be so pleased...hmmm, wonder if a diamond necklace would be too much to ask for?

I love these shorts. Great feel and good length. They are not tight and have a back pocket and button fly. This short elastic waistband is good especially for my mature form.

Very good and comfortable. I usually have trouble finding large shorts which fit well but this matched the trick. Do crush a bit but if you want a comfy pair of versatile shorts, this is the one.

These are the most comfortable shorts I've ever worn. There is a ton of leg room. The material is soft. The waistband is not binding. They are lightweight. I like everything about them.
