I bought these for my husband who is 5 years old and they gave him blisters. Now he will not wear them. They are nice a nice looking shoe, just not comfortable.

Ahh, the Reef Slap. My favorite flip-flop of all time! I rocked a pair of these for 6 years straight, and sadly they disappeared off the market. When I saw they reintroduced the Slap II, I nearly jumped with joy. Oh yes, I am a flip flop enthusiast. The Slap II is true to the original with only minor styling updates. As comfortable and minimal as the original. I normally wear a size 8.5 shoe and used to wear a size 9 Slap which was perfectly oversized (who wants small flips?). I noticed the new Slap II runs smaller than this; I'd say running even 1.5 sizes smaller than marked.

Zappos is a great company! Both the employees I talked to on the phone couldn't have been more friendly or helpful. The free overnight delivery was especially appreciated and helpful in this bad economy...thanks for going out of your way to put customers first; I have already passed on my great experience to many friends and family. The shoes were great too! I have been looking for navy blue Reef sandals for a year and a half in stores since my dogs chewed up my originals; and there they were on Zappos. Thanks

Trying to fit a wide foot, I ordered the men's Slap in a size 6 and a women's Fanning in a size 7. The Slap has a softer sole, the Fanning feels stiff in comparison. Both shoes were the exact same length and width, but the Slap had a little more room over the instep and was more comfortable than the Fanning. Normally, I had heard that men's sizes ran 1.5 to 2 times larger than women's. So just to let you know, I think the sizes would run small for a man since the M6 and W7 were equal.

The Reef Slaps are the best flip flops ever made. Bought a pair 15 years ago and have been looking for some more ever since. Finally, Reef has brought them back.

The now internationally recognized company has always blended the cool and casual attitude of the beach with a commitment to nurturing the lifestyle that follows. At the core of the Reef are authentic, surf inspired products that have been worn by millions around the world since the company originated in 1984. Professional surf riders like Rob Machado, Mick Fanning, Ben Bourgeois, and Jay Thompson continue to spread the word about Reef by traveling the world in search of the best waves in some of the most beautiful and remote spots on earth, living out a fantasy that few ever experience firsthand. Reef is all about finding those spots and savoring every moment of beautiful surf and sand.
Reef sandals have stood the test of time since two brothers from Argentina founded the company. Backed by classics, sandals like the Reef Fanning and the Reef Leather Smoothy, the revered surf company continues to deliver the sandals that help drive the sport and lifestyle forward. Reef doesn’t slouch on women’s styles, either. Reef flip-flops are easy to step into like the Ginger 2-Pair Variety Pack, and if you need an extra lift with each step, then the Butter has all that and more. And if you need some traditional Reef sandal style, then the easy comfort of the Wispy or Slap will keep you covered on the beach, boardwalk, or for those everyday adventures under the sun. Not limited to just sandals, Reef has expanded to an entire lifestyle incorporating Reef clothes, including shirts, hoodies, shorts, dresses, and a variety of Reef swimsuits and Reef boardshorts.
Times have changed, but Reef is driven by the same constant – they’re surfers at heart, drawing influences from a world filled with beaches, waves, and surf. They still stand for the same things that the company was founded on by Fernando and Santi back in 1984 – a love of the sport and the lifestyle that was born out of it. To this day, Reef remains a core surf company with their revered collection of Reef sandals. With authentic and innovative products intended to nurture an incredibly fortunate lifestyle that involves surf, sensuality and a life filled with happiness, Reef and their beloved collection of Reef sandals will continue to thrive, no matter how high that next wave may be.

Reef Slap shoes have always been known for comfort and this style is the reason why. They are the best. They are extremely comfortable and last for years, even in Hawaii. If you are trying to decide which pair to get, get these, you won't regret it!

I must say the slaps are my #1… I bought all 4 colors. I have the Fannings – they’re nice, but not as comfortable as the Slaps… these do run almost 1.5 size small... so if you have size 8.5 sneakers, order a size 10 flip flop... you do not want your flip flops small! The bigger, the better, and more comfort... take the Slaps with pride.
Brands I'd also recommend: Only Reef

Very nice very comfortable. I highly recommended! If you like flip flops that are flat, do not buy these. They are pretty thick on the back of the sole. They run 1.3 small in size almost 1.5. I wear 11.5 sneaker so I bought the Reef Slaps in a size 13 they fit good, but a hair big.

I have worn Reef sandals for over 25 years. When Reef stopped making the original Slap. I had a very difficult time finding another sandal that was as comfortable and durable as the Slap. After trying several styles and brands, I was very happy to see Zappos selling the Slap II. They are simply the best, most comfortable sandal I have found. Zappos makes the purchase process painless. A few minutes on the computer and in 2 days I have my sandals. Thanks for your help!

I love these flip flops. I had bought a pair last year and they were starting to wear and companies always bring out new styles and I couldn't find any as comfortable. They have good arch support, are wide enough so your fit don't hang off the sides, and don't wear out half way through summer. Zappos was everything they advertise. They carry just about everything. They were fast! And No shipping costs. If I had needed to return them, I sure I would have been satisfied with that, too. Yay, Zappos!

The Reef Slap is, I think, the most comfortable flop that Reef makes. Some of the others look cool or have cool features (church key, built in flask) but for comfort these Slaps are the best. They are soft and supportive and last for years. I had one pair for about 5 years, last year I couldn't find the Slap so I went with another brand and was not near as happy. I know it's just a flip flop, but once you have tried these you will know why other companies just don't cut it.

I have had a pair of Reef Redux for several years and they are my favorite sandals. I have been trying to find another pair to buy but have had no luck. So, after seeing the Reef Slap II on Zappos, I thought I\'d take a chance on that style. I am one happy guy. The Slap II\'s are just what I wanted. Very comfortable, a decent arch support and the the strap between the toes do not bother me at all, like on some flip flops. Thank you Reef for a great product and thank you Zappos for making my on line purchase quick and easy.

Absolutely the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned. They are like walking on clouds but at the same time giving plenty of arch support. Highly recommend the shoes and purchasing from Zappos.

I bought a pair of these years ago when they were just slaps and I kept them around as house kicks even though they were too small. They were just to comfortable to give up. So, my wife got me a new pair as a birthday gift and I flipped that she had found them again. I didn't realize they had brought them back, but I totally understand why. I love these. If you don't have a pair, you should.

I found this reef at a store locally, but in a man's 7. I am a gal. Ordered a 6 online from Zappos and they are perfect! Just what I was looking for. Excellent support and better than my other Reefs.

I will wear no other brand. This slap is worth the few extra dollars compared to others. "Quality remains long after price is forgotten." I have purchased shoes from another online competitor in the past. Zappos is the most customer friendly. I could go on. Thanks Zappos.
Brands I'd also recommend: No other this is the best brand for comfort and style

A great flippy floppy that I can recommend to anyone who has an arch in their foot. Flatfooters need not apply. I have a med-low arch and it took just a few hours for the shoes to fit great. Wore three days straight in the water on a rocky beach in the Colorado River while on a houseboat trip. Very strong straps and very comfortable. Could not be happier.

Southern California summers (circa late 50s & 1960s) would officially start with my mom's regimented ritual of buying the kids a pair of plastic Flip-Flops from the local grocery store. The Flip-Flops/Thongs/Zorros were displayed in a huge wire bin and came in only two colors (blue & red) with 3 unisex size choices (S-M-L). Having a new pair signified the beginning of the summer vacation, freedom from school and also allowed free range feet and toes to freely inter-mix with H2O adventures at Laguna Beach, Sierra Mountains and the local pool. These ancient sandals provided absolutely no comfort & support, poorly protected the tips of the toes, would produce blisters for the first 3 or 4 weeks of summer vacation and would rarely last the entire summer. Perhaps the technology of the time wasn't advanced enough or maybe the rigors administered by an eight year old throwing their Flip-Flops like a Ninja Star Frisbee at any moving target (teasing older brother) that crossed their path also aided in their short lifespan. I recently bought my first pair of Reef Slap II's and was amazed by the huge step* or advancement in flip-flop technology that has occurred since those early primitive years and even in the last 15 years. Gone is the bin shopping which now has been replaced by the computer/mouse pad navigation for easy (Zappos.com) internet ordering...whoever would have guessed. Wow! Seriously though, these Reefs are amazingly comfortable, supportive, cushiony and have not caused the dreaded blistering syndrome (DBS) so common with many of the poorly made flip-flop brands. They immediately conformed to the individual dynamics (arch) of my feet, absolutely no break in period was necessary. After reading some of the reviews about sizing, I ordered one size larger than my normal tennis shoe size, this was the perfect sizing calibration tool and provided for a perfect fit. Many word meanings have evolved and changed over time as well as the design and construction of the Flip-Flops from those early days of the 1960s. A free range is not necessarily a major appliance one can win in a contest or by redeeming trading stamps, a mouse pad isn't a home for rodents and a thong is not only a sandal but a type of very uncomfortable underwear, but more importantly a Flip-Flop has evolved into a totally pleasurable experience, especially when it's a pair of Slap II's by Reefs. *Pun intended.
