The now internationally recognized company has always blended the cool and casual attitude of the beach with a commitment to nurturing the lifestyle that follows. At the core of the Reef are authentic, surf inspired products that have been worn by millions around the world since the company originated in 1984. Professional surf riders like Rob Machado, Mick Fanning, Ben Bourgeois, and Jay Thompson continue to spread the word about Reef by traveling the world in search of the best waves in some of the most beautiful and remote spots on earth, living out a fantasy that few ever experience firsthand. Reef is all about finding those spots and savoring every moment of beautiful surf and sand.
Reef sandals have stood the test of time since two brothers from Argentina founded the company. Backed by classics, sandals like the Reef Fanning and the Reef Leather Smoothy, the revered surf company continues to deliver the sandals that help drive the sport and lifestyle forward. Reef doesn’t slouch on women’s styles, either. Reef flip-flops are easy to step into like the Ginger 2-Pair Variety Pack, and if you need an extra lift with each step, then the Butter has all that and more. And if you need some traditional Reef sandal style, then the easy comfort of the Wispy or Slap will keep you covered on the beach, boardwalk, or for those everyday adventures under the sun. Not limited to just sandals, Reef has expanded to an entire lifestyle incorporating Reef clothes, including shirts, hoodies, shorts, dresses, and a variety of Reef swimsuits and Reef boardshorts.
Times have changed, but Reef is driven by the same constant – they’re surfers at heart, drawing influences from a world filled with beaches, waves, and surf. They still stand for the same things that the company was founded on by Fernando and Santi back in 1984 – a love of the sport and the lifestyle that was born out of it. To this day, Reef remains a core surf company with their revered collection of Reef sandals. With authentic and innovative products intended to nurture an incredibly fortunate lifestyle that involves surf, sensuality and a life filled with happiness, Reef and their beloved collection of Reef sandals will continue to thrive, no matter how high that next wave may be.

Nice but a little expensive... They are comfortable, and look good, but IMO not worth ~$50. You can get many others that are close to $30-$40 and look pretty good as well.

First I'll admit that I'm super picky about footwear. My #1 priority is comfort, #2 is appearance/style, #3 is quality of materials and construction, #4 is price. That said, sadly I have to rate these "Fanning Leather" flops a "flop!" on my feet. The only area they excel in is appearance...they do indeed project a hip & cool but not gaudy or trendy look that I like. They look great with shorts, jeans, and even khakis, but my appreciation stops there. The footbed is flat and somewhat squishy with very little to no arch support and the touted air pocket in the heel looks good but doesn't seem to do much. Also, the bottoms of my feet seem prone to sweating in these. The materials used and construction seem first rate but overall I'd say they are just appropriate as "foot candy"...kind of like dating a gorgeous babe who won't sleep with you! I'll stick with my top of the line Teva's. They look just as good and "they put out."

I bought a pair two years ago and they are now ready to be replaced for the Summer 2012. These are the best flip flops you can buy. Very comfortable and very strong.
I'd also recommend: Timberlands

I've had these sandals for over a year now and I think they're great! They're fairly comfortable and they look cool and classy. There is one funny wear mark on the white trim on the inside of the right heel, but it doesn't affect the function of the shoe. They are holding up great and I've worn them quite a bit. The sole is somewhat stiff but that's not a complaint, just an observation, might even be better for support. I think they feel fine.
I'd also recommend: Puma

This was a purchase for my son; he has worn these flip flops before and loves the comfort. He did however requet a half size, they are available in whole only so I ordered up a size, they fit him fine.

This shoe fits very well, almost like a sandal. It does take some time to break in the leather part that goes between your toes, but once that is done, it fits great. It took a little time to get used to the slope forward design as well. Had a chance to help some people out with opening their bottles during tailgating. My last shoes were Tommy Bahama and these are worlds better for fit. Those got loose after 2 days and never fit my feet well.
