Either my ankles are small or the boot requires a pretty perfect fit to be snug. I usually wear a 9.5, but I think I should have gotten a 9. Anyways, if you have nice think ankles, then the ankle protection motorcycling needs here may be right for you. I need to return them, however.

Sturdy boots - These boots are sturdy, good leather, steel toes. The zippers are really convenient for on & off. They make me more confident on my scooter on the highway & around town. I wish they were 1"-2" taller so my pants would overlap them when seated on the scooter. Oh well, they're still great.

Great shoes for riding but not for walking - These shoes are great on the bike but I cannot wear them all day. Just take a second pair of shoes to walk in.

Sharp boots for work and play. These boots look awesome! The lines are classic enough that I can pass them off at work in khaki’s and polo's. Right out of the box I wore them for several days without any fatigue and most of my day is standing at a work bench on concrete flooring. Comfort I rank as a 4 instead of 5 only because I'm not used to having play at the top of a boot when walking. With my old motorcycle boots I had laces all the way to the top for a snug fit. This isn't a drawback just something to get used to. On the plus side this is the first steel toe boot that I don't have an uncomfortable feeling inside the boot. I haven't had shoes with zippers since the age of 5 years old. But I don't have the hassle of tying and untying boots all the time either. My 1st pair of Red Wings and it will not be my last. Thanks for a terrific product.

First time buyer - I was very hesitant to purchase shoes over the net but with Zappos policy it was a no brainer. Their price and service are excellent. The boots are a little heavy and need to get used to them. Their size was dead on and do not hurt my feet as I break them in.

Just what I wanted.. These boots are exactly what I wanted and fit the way all Red-Wing shoes have that I've purchased in the past. The only thing I don't care for is the Red logo so I painted them black. Zappos service is excellent. Thank You

Makes your feet feel at home! My regular size is 8 1/2 EEE, but this was not available. So, I bought Red Wing's 9EE, expecting to have to send them back. As soon as I had one on, I knew it was perfect. Ten minutes later I walked my Labs around our neighborhood for an hour. These boots are heavy and tiring on a long walk ... but no blister problems, they fit and bend the way they should. If you have extra wide feet like I do, choose one size up in EE, you won't be displeased. I'm delighted with mine.

Boot Action - This is a good, strong boot. They have very comfortable souls. They are a bit stiff for everyday use, but otherwise, one of the better pairs of boots I have purchased in a long time.

Red Wing motorcycle boots - These boots are easy on/ easy off. I like the low-heeled Vibram soles; they really stick to the pavement, greasy or otherwise. The brand plate on the ankle almost serves as ankle armor. The steel toe keeps the boot from collapsing at the shift point. The leather is thick but breaking in nicely. Red Wing boots run big so I bought a 1/2 size smaller than normal and still have room for thick socks.

Best Yet - Riding since '78. Like most I keep looking for better boots. I ride HDs but don't like their stuff. Red Wings combine lighter weight w/ heavy sole, quality leather and flexibility and at a reasonable price. Quick break-in. Used to wear Hermans or Corcoran jump boots. Can't get Hermans; still have pair 20yrs old. Heavy but tough. Red Wings are the best. Own 3 pair. D.Fortes

Traditional boot with a twist - I ordered this half a size smaller than usual based on previous reviews and it was a perfect fit. Very solidly built and not too heavy despite its looks. The twin zippers are a great feature which allow you to customize the fit. This is the best engineer type boot I've ever bought and I'm going to order another pair.

Sweet riding boots - I was looking for some plain, classic-looking riding boots, which were still real riding boots. These don't have any armor or real protection in them, so if you're looking for something more repli-racer, they're probably not it. Anyhoo... these fit great, are easy to walk in, and look good. I ride a Triumph Speed Triple, which has pretty compact sportbike-ish controls, and the steel toes are not too big for them, which I was worried about. I could do without the big logo on the side, but oh well. My only concern is that the zippers might not last as long as the rest of the boot, which is very solid. Great boot, so far.

Roomy fit, simple lines - I was looking for a plain, practical, comfortable motorcycle boot and this is it. It seems to run a bit large, plenty of room for heavy socks if desired.

Good, zippered boots. Buy the 965s for a true motorcycle boot. It is much more comfortable and supportive. The 980s are better for quick on/off and daily use.

The best looking work boots I've ever owned. Can almost see myself buying a second pair for casual wear.

We shall see........ So far this seems to be the best built most comfortable riding boot I have found. I am waiting to see weather they will last longer than one season as all the other, so called "quality" boots did.
