These are great boots and after six months they are really coming into their own, molding to my feet like the proverbial baseball glove. However, as you may have noted by other posts, getting the right fit is a bit of a chore. The best thing to do is buy two pairs and return one. That is scary at this price but Zappos' return policy makes and there is just no other way to be sure. Sizing help: If your feet are narrow to normal you are in luck; these boots are shaped for you. You might fit a full size down. If you have wide toes like I do you might have to stick with a half size down and accept a little extra length. I normally wear a 9 in shoes like Keens that have good toebox width. I wear an 8½ Iron Ranger and that is only to make my pinky toes happy. In all other aspects I would fit an 8. No matter what, they will not feel good right out of the box. Generally they will feel overly snug but in a weird way they may even feel too lose and too tight at the same time. Minor heel slippage is normal. Do not despair. They will soon conform to your feet. Snug spots will loosen and slipping spots (especially in the heel) will get more secure as your foot makes its own pocket. A word on insoles: One big difficulty is that you will need to consider whether or not you want an additional insole before you get the chance to break them in -- but of course that decision will influence what size you buy. All I can say is I thought I would want insoles but at present I like them without. I feel you should at least break them in without an insole and see how it goes. Oh and I concur with what others have said, they are not for icy conditions. Hope this helps.

Completely worthless on the snow. The sole Redwing chose for this boot is smooth as a baby's bottom. Perhaps this is how the original boot was sold, but I consider it a design flaw for use during the winter. Redwing gave the boot a nifty name. But there is no way this foot ware would be a viable option for a MN winter. It almost dangerous walking in them. With that said, off the snow they are very comfortable, past braking them in. Construction is second to none, and the vintage styling is great. If you live in a snow-less region, enjoy them year round. You won't be disappointed. Again, worthless on the snow.

Fantastic shoe, well made, very good leather - but does take time to break in. Shoe runs big, I usually wear a 10.5 to 11 and I got a 10 in this shoe. Must wear shoe with dark socks at first since the leather will stain white socks until broken in.

I bought these boots because my Doc Martens finally bit the dust. I was hesitant at first because of the price but I am so glad I spent the money. The boots are extremely well made, and can go casual to dressy no problem. I purchased an 11 EE when I normally wear a 12 in normal shoes, or a 13 in Nikes (just to give you an idea of the sizes). I have a wide feet and these fit perfectly. There was a three day break in period and now I love them. They are more comfortable than the Doc Martens because they come in the half sizes for people with larger feet (keep in mind you need to go a size down) and the docs stop half sizing at size 11. Overall awesome shoes. I have owned them for over a month. Definitely worth it.

These are exactly what I was looking for: retro, tough and purposeful but not with a sole that looks like I am about to step in a cow pie. They are close to a full size oversized with regular socks. If you add an insert or where liner socks... maybe just a half size over.
