I have two boys. One is "rail thin" the other is "husky." This belt was perfect for both. The waist adjusts along the belt without the belt notches which never align with the needs of my boys in terms of fit or comfort. This one works well. Note: My smaller child finds it a little more difficult to manage than the Gap waffle weave we used to have.
