My 9 year old son loves these sneakers. The fit is snug but comfortable. You might consider ordering a half size up. These sneakers are light weight and are easy to get on and off. The bold coloring and styling are just what he was looking for. He has already asked for another pair in a larger size in case he outgrows these.
Brands I'd also recommend: Adidas and Nike have similar styles
