The Velcro on these is horrible, they get fuzzy and shed like a cotton ball, I will definitely be exchanging these.

I ordered these for my son who is in kindergarten because he came home everyday with his Adidas Sambas untied. He really likes these Pumas. He can put them on himself and the Velcro stays on. You cannot get them as tight as tie shoes, but he does not seem to mind. His teacher even thanked me. Now she does not need to tie his shoes several times a day.

The velcro was no problem for us. Our little man is a cyclone and he didn't dent his pair until he outgrew them! He doesn't know what a "Ferrari" is, but even he, at 18 months, loved these red bad boys. Everyone complemented them too. Only down side is they are a bit narrow and not very breathable either. Well, everything can't feel like a wide Striderite, but thank God everything at least doesn't necessarily look like those things either! By far, these are the coolest shoes for toddlers on Zappos!

Love this shoe for both style and fit! My two year old was thrilled when they arrived and I loved the fit chart that was included. They have held up to his rough ways except the Velcro on the straps. The rough piece of the Velcro has been fine but the soft part has rubbed off the strap where it is pulled through to tighten the shoe strap and that is why I gave the shoe four stars instead of five.

I bought these shoes for my 4 year old son. Within the first week the stitching began to fray on the sole near the toe. That wasn't much of a problem, but now, 3 weeks after the shoes were delivered, the velcro has totally ripped on both shoes, and no longer adheres to keep the shoe on his foot. The tongue also slips down constantly.
I'd also recommend: Tsukioshi Shoes
