I bought these in both colors. I have a wide foot and find it unusual to find a shoe that provides both comfort and the ability to wear thick socks. Many shoes, for me are too wide in the heel and not wide enough in the toe box. This boot provides a nice lacing that allows you to snug your heel in and back without killing the rest of your foot. I do not use the easy out as I still need to lace/relace when I put the shoe on. Nevertheless, I think they are unbeatable as a comfortable light boot for the price. As someone else pointed out, they are not "waterproof", but with proper treatment, they are quite serviceable. I bought this in a 9(D). I go between a D and EE depending on the shoe.

The quality and detail in this product is amazing! From the textured shoelaces, the side zipper, extreme support, and the intense tread sole. A must have if you are looking for a high-quality hiking boot.

This is the best fitting shoe I have ever found. The laces start all the way down at the front of the shoe so you can tighten or loosen all the way from the ends of your toes to your ankle. And then there is the small zipper on the side which means once you get it right, you do not have to untie and lose the exact fit. I ordered a wide and my exact size, they fit perfectly. The only complaint is no arch support.

Great value, comfortable, ran about half size big for me but with the right socks were just fine. Wore them hiking the first wear and no problems. Width good and could adjust with laces.

I purchased these hiking boots before a trip to Iceland. I wanted hiking boots that weren't ugly but would still protect me from the elements. I ordered them a size wide and when I got them I thought they might be too wide. I tried them on and they didn't feel like they were going to be comfortable. BUT, I didn't have time to send them back and exchange so I kept them anyway. I LOVE THESE BOOTS! They were so comfortable walking on lava fields and felt secure on the glacier; of our group I was the only one not complaining of cold feet. I also love the side zipper and Velcro closure. It made them easy to get on and off without having to adjust my laces each time. I highly recommend this product and they really are the best looking Hiking boots I found.

Haven't worn this for a long walk yet, but it is the best out of 8 pairs that I ordered. Good support. Attractive. Enough room in toe box for my bunions (on both feet). The only thing I would wish for is that the purple color on it was a little lighter so it would actually be noticeable. It is so dark that it blends with the black and so the look kind of blah.

This is the cheapest (by quite a bit) of the options I ordered and by far the most comfortable. I bought it to walk around in snowy NYC and now wear it on the weekend in Houston. It's very light and supportive, and the side zipper takes the hassle out of getting in and out.

I bought this boot for winter hiking with a thick sock and my own orthotic. Super comfortable! The first time out in these, I hiked three hours in the snow with no problems whatsoever. I ordered a wide, and they gave me plenty of toe room. Great boot all around.

Great hiking boot! Didn't know it had, but love the side entry/exit using the zipper and velcro strap. It saves the hassle of lacing a hiking boot each time! Overall, pretty comfy (I got a wide because of my bunions), and pretty good support.

I just received these and am very pleased with them. They feel true to size and width (I have wide feet). It is not visible in the picture but a nice feature of these is a small zipper and velcro strap on one side which allow you to slip the boot on and off without undoing the laces each time.

Love it! I needed a sturdy shoe for long desert walking/hikes. It needed stability, ankle support, comfort, and something thorns won't poke through. This shoe is perfect! I ordered 8.5 EE and it fits my wide feet.

Exactly what I needed - my custom orthotics fit perfectly inside, and the boots are very comfortable. The best feature is that the lacing goes all the way down to the toes. I can lace the boot tightly (and comfortably) around my whole foot. My feet are just a little too wide for medium-width shoes, but wides often feel too wide. These boots are perfect.

This is my second pair of Propet boots and I am hooked. I usually wear size 8W(D) but I ordered these in 8WW since the first pair (a different style) was just a tiny bit snug with my thick wool socks. I probably could have worn an 8W in this style but the extra room allows me to wear additional padding leaving plenty of room for a very tender bunion on my right foot. With the extra padding it\'s like walking on air! I will definitely buy Propet boots again and as always, Zappos, you rock.

These shoes fit very well, considering I have a narrow foot. I wore them for the first time at an all day outdoor adventure. They didn't need any breaking in. My feet were warm and comfortable.

Very pleased with this purchase - found them true to size; also has support. I have a wide foot and ordered 1/2 size smaller - only complaint is it took a little while to wear them in as they are very stiff when first purchased - all in all very pleased. I love shopping at Zappos.
