"Dear Zappos: My sister's daughter, Lily, is being baptized this Sunday. She is wearing her older sister's white dress which has been a tradition in our family for years. Lily is 15 months old. My sister, Emily, called me and we were discussing what shoes Lily should wear to her christening. I thought since she would only wear the shoes once, she should get her something inexpensive and somewhat disposable. Emily thought that since she was not wearing a new dress, it'd be nice for her to have something nice and special. We searched and searched for something tasteful, but special and beautiful at the same time. Emily found a pair of absolutely dear Pink lambskin Designer's Touch slippers with a Pink ribbon on Zappos.com. While we were on the phone about 8:45 Monday evening June 25th, I placed the order. I noticed that you offered free shipping, but I was not hopeful for a fast delivery - I have shopped on line a great deal, and I am accustomed to paying for overnight delivery only to wait 3-4 days for the order to actually leave a warehouse. I received and e-mail from Zappos.com Tuesday morning advising me your team has been working the whole night, my order had been picked, and that delivery was anticipated for Tuesday June 26th. I called Emily and told her the order was ready to ship, but there was no possible way it could be delivered that day. Emily called me at 4:00 pm Tuesday and said the shoes were absolutely darling. She was SO thrilled. Unbelievable - I place an order at 8:45 pm Monday, and she actually rec'd the order Tuesday! I just wanted to write to say that I work in the apparel industry and very much appreciate the importance of customer service. I have never shopped Zappos.com before, but you certainly have a new and permanent customer. Thank you so much for your excellent service. I work in an office with about 300 women who are all involved in the apparel industry and do a great deal of shopping, and I plan to recommend Zappos not only to my colleagues, but to my family and friends as well.
