"You folks run a magic company - friendly, knowledgeable staff available 24/7, huge selection, user-friendly website, timely webpage updates regarding product availability, whiz-bang shipping, and generous, easy returns & exchanges. (Love what you came up with for your phone line’s outgoing holiday message - that all by itself made me smile.) My dad is experiencing circulation problems due to aging and finds winters increasingly challenging in his little house on the Olympic Peninsula. I’m 1400 miles away, but found an excellent selection of both ultra-warm (to something like –100 F) waterproof outdoor boots and super-cozy “base-camp-type” booties (Drizone) for use as slippers. Not only did I find perfect footwear at Zappos, I did this 2 days after Christmas! (My dad did not make his needs known to me until Christmas Day...) His birthday is 3 days after Christmas, so I went into internet overdrive. A search engine came up with many sites and all I tip-toed through were low on inventory and/or took 7-10 days for delivery, but then I found Zappos. When I phoned my dad Thursday morning the 27th to tell him warm feet would be his, indoors and out, in about 24 hours, he said “Oh no, nothing ever gets here on the Peninsula that fast. It will stop at Seattle and then Pony Express will take it from there.” At 1:30 the next afternoon he called to tell me the order had just been delivered and both pair of footwear fit great. He said the booties were so warm he’d dispense with wearing 3 or 4 pair of socks with his ordinary fur-lined, ankle-high slippers. He hasn’t had the opportunity to actually get outside with the tall boots yet, but they will work beautifully. The order-taker even put a note in with the purchase saying “Happy Birthday, Dad!” have a second Zappos order for myself and my husband and will head to Zappos first when I need something you folks carry. Thanks so much for making my dad’s birthday really special - warm footwear for him and successful, pleasant, long-distance gift-giving for me."
