The 1.5 version is a great improvement to a great shoe. I have wide, straight feet (usually wear 3E or 4E widths), but the toebox and straight shank on these fit really well. The zero drop design feels so much more grounded than typical shoes. The 1.0 version was pretty good, but I found that they got very sloppy in the heel area. Lastly, I'm so glad they came out with the non-garish black/white/red version instead of the original red.

I bought these to wear on 60 to 80 mile sections of the PCT this summer. The traction is as good or superior to that of the Brooks Cascadia I have worn the past two summers. The zero drop puts less pressure on my patellars tendons (ligaments) and the wide toe box was a welcome change from other trail runners. I have worn these on two 8 mile hikes on a steep local mountain with my full pack with water and food. So far so good. Good solid fit and again the traction is great up and down hill. These weigh in at less than 10 ounces each too! I will be buying more from this brand in other style as well. Think of them as Merrell Barefoot type shoes but with padding if that is what you are looking for. I wear Merrell Trail Gloves around town and Merrell Bare Access 3s at work on a concrete floor, but for the backpacking season I wanted something more. Also the Merrell solution called the Mixmaster is not nearly as comfortable as these.
